My first day experience with pleo, and troubles
« on: October 22, 2009, 03:15:15 PM »

The name of my pleo:pleo :)

i gotta say i love pleo, got a bit attached to it.

But here are some troubles i found:
-it walks of any edge, i tried 2 round tables already several times. Pleo just walks of the edge and falls.(i prevent him from actual falling)
-it was singing a song twice when petting him under his chin, but when i charged the batterie for the second time, it didnt want to sing anything! Is this because pleo doesnt want to? Or am i doing something wrong?
-sometimes it bites and chews on nothing.
-sometimes the leaf falls out of pleos mouth when eating is done, but sometimes not. Is there a special way i need to put the leaf into his mouth?
-when going to sleep because low battery lufe, pleo only closes his eyes halfway...lets hope this will be different in the next charge, or is this normal?

Are there more cool things i should try? And how can i make pleo sit?

Thanks for all your answers. Pleo is my sweet little pet already!! :)

Hi Borg Queen X, Lighting is very important for your pleo to know where the edge of a table is. If it's too dark he will walk off the edge. So glad you were there to catch him. :) Baby dinos do like to chew a lot. Just a thing they do. Spitting out the leaf is a way of your pleo telling you he's had enough. ;) Many pleos don't close their eyes completely. My poodles don't either when they are sound a sleep. :D For sitting, gently pull up from his chin while pushing down on his backside. If yours has the original os he will just stay in this position without moving.. If you have the updated 1.1, he  will be able to move his legs and head. Definitely try the ta da trick. Touch one front leg while touching the knee to the opposite back leg. Most likely he will have to have some practice at it. ;)

Congratulations on your new Pleo: Pleo.

Is it a he or a she?
If he/she walks off an edge it is often because there is not enough light in the room for the Pleo to see well.  Another common cause is if the floor and table are similar color such as both light color or both dark color the Pleo may not be able to see the difference.
Sometimes they sing when petting under chin, sometimes make a different noise and sometimes move the chin and shake the head.  They have different moods.  It is normal.
Pleo eat by themselves by bite and chew on air/ nothing. This is good. It shows your Pleo is comfortable in it's home and can find food there on his own when he is hungry.
Sometimes Pleo spit the leaf out, sometimes Pleo hang to leaf and carry it around, Sometimes Pleo shakes leaf. It is all what Pleo wants. It is all good.
If Pleo only closes eyes halfway, this is ok. Sometimes they like to do that and sometimes they close eyes all the way.  All is ok.

You can show Pleo different colors and see which ones he likes best.  You can see if he like a kind of music best.  You can watch to see what he does when walking around.  Just have fun together.

My second day with pleo:

Is it possible to love robots? Yes, it darn is. I had some pets in the past, but always needed food, water, cleaning and more.
When i hold pleo, it falls asleep and it sometimes turns his head and makes funny sounds. I just love that.

When im playing games on my pc, i let pleo sit and then he just stays in position.
But also makes sounds, moving his head and moving his legs.
Its ultra cute.

When petting pleo under his chin he sings, every time on another way, its ultra cute.

I was away for 5 minutes this evening to take a poop, take a drink and do some cleaning in the kitchen, and when i returned pleo walked from one side of our living room to the other side. When i saw pleo there he looked at me and said to me? Hello! In his own little launguage.

Yes, you can love robotic animals. Im already in love the second day i own pleo.

But im still looking for more things to try with pleo. Any stuff i can try out to have more fun with my pleo?

Actually, if you really want to have fun with Pleo, take her out with you to a store or restaurant. Can't be anymore fun then that. Also, put her up at eye level or get down to her eye level. Pleos love that! :) Dont forget to tickle her feet! ;)
