Hi, I'm in Australia and am about to receive my new Pleo (hopefully) in the next couple of days.

I use to own a Pleo. I bought him direct from the U.S. when they were first released because you couldn't buy them here. It was only until a month or so before Ugobe did their sudden online disappearance that we could even buy a spare battery. I really enjoyed my Pleo, but through a situation beyond my control I had to give him up along with my Aibos.

Back then my Pleo had just the one battery which, as most of you know, can be a little frustrating especially for someone like me who likes to take him out and about during the day. Well today I went into a local retailer and they had two Pleo batteries for $49 (yes that's the total price for both) and my hopes were up they might still have a Pleo in stock. So before purchasing the batteries I asked and they said their supplier still have 18 Pleos in stock so I bought the batteries and ordered the Pleo.

I'm really looking forward to getting my new Pleo (name undecided). This one is going to be spoilt for sure. I know there's plans for an improved Pleo sometime next year, but I figure it will most likely be more expensive if the new features are there so I'll have to wait some time before getting that one. Besides the current Pleo is still very cute and loads of fun to have around.

Welcome OzPleo ;D Glad you decided to join us :) Did you manage to pick yours up from Harvey Normans? My two came form there :) I am also an Aussie, I have two Pleo's Lilo and Stitch and I just adore taking them out in public, it's so much fun :)

 Yep it was Harvey Norman. I'm pretty stoked about it actually because I didn't think I'd be able to get one here anymore, especially now that I'll have three batteries for him.

Welcome OzPleo!   Great Price!

I know what you mean about wanting more battery time.  If you need additional batteries, consider the white/grey color Li-Poly battery and egg charger set. You get over 2 hours of playtime from each 3.5 hour charge.

Welcome Ozpleo! Glad to have you with us! You sure lucked out on getting such a good deal with those batteries! And from what I understand Harvey Norman is supposed to be a pretty good company to buy from. Let us know when you go to hatch your new baby, would love to see some pics/vids!

Hello Ozpleo, So glad you were able o find a pleo and to have three batteries, you should be able to have a lot of play time. I hope you and IMR live fairly close to one another. So much fun getting a herd of pleos together.

I'm down in Victoria :P I will have to duck into my Harvey Normans here and see if I can nab a few cheap batts ;)

You will have a one year warranty with your Pleo and Harvey Normans was really good at accepting a return when my first Pleo developed a skin problem. (My other two have been just fine though :)) My last Pleo was already running the updated OS so if your Pleo has a smooth shiny back (paint protection) he/she is probably already updated :)

Yea I'm real glad I got those two extra batteries because I know it's a pain in the butt waiting between charges. I guess I should get myself an extra charger. Hopefully soon Innova Labs will start selling their new chargers to Australians (we're always waiting for the latest technologies to be passed onto us :(  )

Okay so I tried another battery. It too charged for only 1.5 hours before being full. My Pleo is working. I hope the battery that came with him is okay. Maybe because our voltage is 220 it only takes half as long to charge the battery? In any case I've ordered the new charger and will see what happens then.

Aww sorry to hear you are having trouble already, I hope it turns out to be just a faulty battery, Stitch came with a faulty battery too although I didn't have the heart to return him ;)

My batteries take about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours to charge, remembering that the batteries you buy separate come partially charged (at least mine both seemed to), 1 1/2 seems about right for it :)
