We just started on pig #2. the first one lived 2 1/2 years (full life expectancy is 5-6 yrs) and died of a cold back last October. We got this new one about two weeks ago. The kids named him Pepe, after the Looney Tunes skunk character. See if you can figure out why.
We do live in the country, so there are lots of animals around. What you classify as "pets" can get somewhat vague. The best rule, of course, is you don't name the ones you plan to eat.

But what we seem to have is an over-abundance of the stuffed ones. I'm a guy, but because I have four girls, the car I drive to work comes stocked with 7 mice and 2 moose on the dashboard; a beaver in the front seat drink caddy, a 3-foot gecko in the back window, and a stuffed bear that's bigger than half the kids. He rides in the car seat (when not in use). And those are just the ones that "live" in the car. That doesn't count the transients that come and go . . .
