Which forum topic is the "help me fix it"?
« on: October 03, 2009, 04:22:46 PM »

Dunno is having trouble, need techie help.
There are plenty of folk around to help, but I couldn't figure out where to put it.
Finally decided in software because it appeared it might be a boot problem or other OS issue
if not a battery issue.

However - I might suggest creating a forum topic just for these discussions.
"Pleo RX"  "Dr Pleo is in"  where those who need help can learn from other
similar problems and then ask for assistance.

I'd love to find a real - diagnosis FAQ built as well for problems.
IE - if it does X - it's probably Y.  Try A, B,C to fix.

If this is already here and I've missed it - then it's not obvious enough.

My personal desire is to create  Pleo Wiki  where the techie folk can really share that
part if it without having to dig thru the forums quite so much just to find some tech reference
someone had discovered.  I'm thinking about trying to start one.  Would you be interested?

Thanks for listening to my rant.

If you Pleo problem is mechanical, electrical or appearance related you can post it in the Pleo Hardware section.  If the problem is software related such as an OS problem you can post it in the Pleo software section.  Doesn't that cover everything?

Also, with Pleo it is not always so simple as symptom X means the problem is Y and the answer is Z.  Sometimes the same or similar symptoms can have different causes and there are choices or different approaches to achieve the desired outcome.

Dragongirl;  :)

Echo is quite correct in what he wrote.  ;)

However in looking at your problem described below I don't know if anyone could help you.   :o

You need to describe your problem as to who what when where and how as clearly as possible.

Then follow Echo's advice.

If your still at a loss as to where to post, and if you include enough information, someone will pick you up and direct you.  ;D

So my problem turned out to be hardware- battery after all.  Definitely mis filed.

So because problems don't have a "known" hardware/software state to begin with
that's why I made the suggestion.

That's why people send for help from a single email
like  help@
not helpithinkitsasoftwareproblem@
or helpithinkitsahardwareproblem@

That's why I suggest a single focus forum for help.
Just a suggestion...
