Pleo doesn't work
« on: August 09, 2009, 07:03:58 AM »

Hi there,

After not using Pleo for a long time, my son wanted te start playing with Pleo again.

We have three batteries. All of them are charged (I think, a voltage meter sais it has 7,22 v)

If I place a batt in the Pleo, it only moves very short and a little snore follows. Then notting happenes.

Has anyone an idea????

It seems that the battery is low on power. I try to charge them today. But after 15 minutes the charger is green or totally of.
If I measure the batteries with a vu meter, the reading sais 7.5 volts. So is think the batteries are full.

OR are the batteries not full enough? Is it maybe a cradle problem? If I measure the voltsge of the cradle the minus and theplus next to eachother gives around 4,8 volts. The upper minus reads zero.

Appologies for the bad grammar or wrong words....

When you don't charge for a while, I heard that the battery will stop working. It could be time fore a new battery, but I'm not sure how to determine if it's a cradle problem. Did it work fine beforehand?

This happens to me all of the time. I simply just switch the charger off at the mains then switch back on again. It will then continue to fully charge the battery as normal. Hopes it helps.

It may be that Pleo is a little cranky and stiff after such a long nap, try just leaving a battery in and on while you try charging another and see if Pleo wakes up after a while. It does sound like a battery problem though, even when your son doesn't want to use Pleo you should get him out once a week or so and let him run through a charge.
