Msical Bots: woah how can it play the trumpet without lips??? Huh? that's really cool. Asimo will probably be able to do that at some point even though it still falls trying to walk up the stairs which is kind of funny but also makes me feel bad at the same time

Cute Robo-Chickies: I've seen those before and i agree, they are verrrryyyy cute. I almost bought one on amazon but then i thought about it and they're not really worth it. Real chicks are cuter and all the robot ones do are chirp and flap their little wings. i would buy one if they could hop or walk

Phoenix Ripple Walking: ewww it looks like a spider *shudders*

Cooking robot: it would be cool to have a robot to cook my food, even though i like to cook. But, octopus balls sound completely gross

Robot Fish: that's cool but they look kind of freaky. this one looks cooler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO9oseiCTdk

Here’s a cool “Aibo Vision” video. What’s interesting is that the video drops out anything that the software is not programmed to recognize. The world is reduced to masses of shape and color .So your really seeing things the way the robot would. It becomes a little clearer why they walk around half blind most of the time. :P

It would be interesting to see something like this for Pleo. Who IIRC only recognizes green.

Here is a more recent (and less dizzying) one

Asimo learns to see and recognise new objects.

This is amazing. I wonder what mechanism Asimo uses to determine the shape and proximity of objects. Does it just use the camera information the way our brains do. Or is there something else (like Pleo’s IR which accounts for most of his vision)

Okay, so I apologize I'm not really computer literate, but I'm pretty sure that URL will work. I tried to 'embed' the video, but all it did was show up some sort of computer lingo mumbo-jumbo. Anywho, this is Jules, he is probably the most coolest Android I've ever seen. He's made by Hanson Robotics.

Oh yeah Fancyfont. I was amazed when I first saw this video. Believe me, you really ought to see all the videos you can about Jules. The company is even marketing a smaller pretty advanced humanoid in 2010. His name is Zeno. The pic is of Pleo and Zeno. Awww! The 6" model will be $300! A little pricey, but he seems light years ahead of Pleo!
