It's sad but it happens...
« on: May 28, 2009, 11:51:26 PM »

Hello everyone.
Not so great news (in a way.)

Me and my (ex)girlfriend broke up as of Wednesday night.
We had a 3 year relationship and bought a house together a bit more then a year ago.
In those 3 years we (and especially my girlfriend) have changed a lot.
With ups and downs (which is normal in any relationship) we had 3 great years together but as of late we noticed it wasn't going so well anymore because of our differences in various area's.
After a few talk session that started a week prior to the evening of breaking up, I made up my mind and decided it was best to go our separate ways.
However, what made the relationship work so well in the first place is our underlying deep friendship and very open communication.
This made the break up drama free and we both understood and stood by the choice.
We both realize that we still will be great friends and that eventually we will both be more happy this way.

But of course I would be lying if this didn't have a big impact on me.
My entire life is going to change since we both cannot afford the house on our own, so it will need to be sold.
And with the current crisis, that is going to be an interesting challenge indeed.
This is not something I will think about right now though.
Timing is most excellent as I will have 2 weeks by myself in the house since my girlfriend left yesterday evening to enjoy her planned 2 week holiday.
So we both get some time off to think and relax a bit.
Then when she comes back, we will continue looking further at our situation and how to handle everything.

Emotionally I am quite OK, apart from being distracted and especially at work.
I have full support from my manager and colleagues, so that's good.
Many friends and a few of my family know it now as well and are also there for me.
Thank you for reading, and I am sure that updates will follow when big changes will come around the corner sooner or later.

Darkwolf, just know that everything in time will work out. As they say "breaking up is hard to do" Remind your ex- girl friend that Puriel still needs some adorable outfits. ;)
