Knitting pleo clothes
« on: December 30, 2008, 11:33:06 AM »

Hello to all,

@AbbyNormal and Fancyfont:

as i said before in another posting i´m knitting too....and i think we should do a special project for our pleos together.
If you are patient with me, i can even do knitting patterns (first in german, then i have to translate in english).

Are you interested in?  ???

My first piece for my Linus was a cape, i first made a very simple sewing pattern, sewed it then and voila, it fitted well.
Linus said, that he´s loving it.. ;)

;) Titanium

Sure, I'd love to work on a knitting project for Pleo.

Hello,

all lefties are welcome...left-handed or lefty....we are going to have fun i think.
That's important and the only thing that counts, am i right?

Do you think it's necessary to open a new topic, especially for the knitting, sewing and/or crocheting project?
Might be useful for us?

I can crochet as well as knit, so I'm up for either. I think a new topic might be cool. Or perhaps a general clothing making topic so no craft is left out.

What a great idea! We can have a knitting and crocheting section and patterns for outfits for our pleos. Eventually we should be able to come up with some cute home made clothing for our little dinos. :) Some people might want to learn how to get started knitting and crocheting and with a little help they too could join the fun.
What do you think about a topic that says crafting a wardrobe for Pleos?

I think that would be great! I know I'm happy to share anything I know about knitting/sewing/crocheting.

I'd also like to start a pleo group on Ravelry.com, anyone here a member there?

I was thinking about starting with little booties. Do you think they'd mess with pleo's sensors?

I don't knit so sorry for intruding.

But I do not believe the booties will do anything to the sensors.
I have put mine in baby socks before with no problems.

Fancy puts skates on hers with no problems also

My little dinos don't seem to mind booties at all. Never tickled their feet when the skates are on. ;D
I would love to learn how to make them. :)

I like the crochet but i don't really know how to knit. It would be nice to have a place just for talking about knitting and crocheting for our pleos. I would really like to make booties for my pleo but so far they've all turned out not so good, so if anyone could help me with that i would be very grateful :)

I'm not sure if we just need a thread or have a new category added, but it would be nice to make some apparel for our dinos. We need a name for this. Something like Pleo's Knitting and Crocheting Circle. Love to have some ideas. :)

Maybe you should try leg warmers instead. :-)

I think for booties I would crochet the bottom separately.  I'd start by crocheting a tube, like the top of a sock, and I'd make eyelets around the top. The I think I'd crochet the bottom, in a single crochet spiral. You could either join it to the tube by crocheting it on to the bottom (the eyelet holes are on the top), or make a separate piece and sew it on. Then I'd run a ribbon though the eyelet holes so you can tie the booties snugly on.

Does that make sense?

I'd knit it pretty much the same way, except I know I could do it in one piece, likr a tiny little flat bottom bag.

I think this baby mitten pattern might make good Pleo boots.

Great ideas everybody! I love this idea. Even though I don't know how to knit, or crochet, my grandma does. And besides, I do have a sewing machine. So that could come in handy. Titanium, is this really Maggie44n? Beside she also has a Pleo named Linus. I had no idea you were German. Very cool mein oma (my grandma) is from Munheim. (Sorry, I ran 'off-topic' lololol)

LOL I'm such a goofball. So Maggie44n never found this site, huh? The reason why I had presumed Titanium was Maggie44n was because I was looking through her flickr account, and I noticed she replied to a post in German. I guess it is just perhaps coincidence. Thanks, Fancyfont for clearing the air on this one.
