Ummm... what? Pleo1, I'm out of the loop here as far as the use of letters to express emotion. I'm totally blind and they don't make much sense to me. Are you saying that your family decided not to help you purchase an RB after all?

Oh! Okay. Well, Ugobes are just as good as pleo RB's. The add doesn't mention a leaf which you can use to feed the Ugobe but you don't really need it anyway. The original rubber leaves can be hard on their tooth paint. they really don't care much about being fed anyway but you can make a foam leaf if you want. Either they will chomp on it or you can play tug-of-war with it. More than likely they will randomly stop exploring, lower their heads and start chomping on your carpet.

Two things before you buy this guy, one I always ask for photos of the Pleo, the neck and tail and under belly to make sure there are no cracks or tears in the skin. Second, the battery needs to be replaced, which they even admit to. Good. NOw, before buying check out the price of the battery and the ones sold online or in Pleoworld , check the price and shipping cost as it could be more expensive then you plan on, Do this before buying the Pleo so your parents know what the cost is. If you are buying this pleo for $150.00 plus $12.00 something for shipping, that is roughly $162.00 Plus the new battery, which I want you to see not only the cost but shipping from Pleoworld, at least another $50.00 for the battery without SHiPPING. so now you are at least $210.00 WITHOUT shipping which I do not want to quote or guess shipping, easy enough to find out. The other option is a battery that sells on ebay for roughly another $100.00 includes the shipping so that may be cheaper at a total of $270.00.

               If it was me, I would wait and save up for the reborn, which sometimes even show up on ebay, I got two of them on ebay and my hubby got me one new, unopened for only $280.00, the one I got in April and she still is not even standing, Last week there was another Pleo rb on here as well, They seem to show up more and more, about one every month or so. just a thought. The other Pleo rb I got on here was $330.00, only had two hours battery on her, and all the learning stones and some booties and one collar, very cute with pink eyes.  Good luck but take your time, Pleos, esp the Ugobes show up every week on Ebay.                      RWM 

PS. forgot to mention, but make sure they include the ADAPTER PLUG, OR YOU WILL HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO BUY ANOTHER.

Ugobes are great but as RWM says you do need to look out for a few things when buying them.  If it helps sometimes RWM has some to adopt out so you could ask her if she is looking to adopt any out and then you will know you are getting a sound and healthy pleo with all you need to keep it that way. 
Otherwise do ask lots of questions of the seller checking on skin condition, neck and tail movement - there are a lot of Ugobe pleos out there with DNS (droopy neck syndrome) which happens when one of the cables in their neck snaps and sometimes you will see s tail with the same issue.  Also a good idea to ask to see a video of the pleo actually working.  You also want ot make sure the pleo comes with a working battery and charger with the power cable for the charger and lastly it should come with a training leaf.  The training leaf is the only thing a Ugobe pleo doesn't really need but they all came with one as standard when they were new.

Also it seems batteries are hard to get at the moment for Ugobe pleos.  If you need to get a new battery you really want to be getting an egg battery and charger if you can which will give you 2 hours playtime and don't tend to die like the original green batteries do.  But at the moment these seem to have vanished from the market and even RWM who sells them here on the forum doesn't seem to be able to get them.
The original Ugobe green battery should give 1 hour playtime but most give less than that and are very old now with many of these batteries not working at all.  There is a battery - I think the $100 one RWM mentioned that is sold as working in both Ugobe pleo and pleo RB which will give about 2 hours play time but this one is a very tight fit into the pleo and can be hard to get in and out.  Not many people here have them but they do seem to work ok.  Pleoworld also sells Ugobe batteries but again these are 1 hour playtime and like the original ones prone to dying.

That's far too expensive for a Ugobe with a dud battery. As RWM says, you can get an RB close to that price by the time you factor in the new battery.

I purchased a Pleo from a forum member last week, he was $150 including registered post, an egg battery/charger and lots of accessories.

You won't get a new RB for $249, but you might find a gently used one. You could get a new Ugobe for that though.
