Pleo in sheepy-style
« on: December 30, 2008, 11:05:57 AM »

Hello,
did anyone in the forum saw the picture of the sheepish pleo??

You can see it here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/steevithak/1716121879/in/photostream/

I think it looks adorable, too...and fluffy.

Question to all:
Do you like this style more than our skinless pleos at home?

Pleo-nistic regards,
Titanium

Oh that is so cute!!!

I'd be worried about it getting too hot, but as a knitter, I am mad about anything to do with sheep!

Hi AbbyNormal,

that funny, i´m a knitting addict too....we should think about knitting something special for our little friends.
Without getting their hearts ("batteries") too hot. ;-)

Feel free to get in touch, if you want to...

Just saw your post in the Clothes-Section. See you there, okay?!

That sheepskin was made by the wife of a Ugobe employee in place of the rubber skin (not on top of).  It was on display at the Maker Faire in Austin, Texas back in October of 2007, before pleos started shipping.  It supposedly worked fine without overheating, but the touch sensors didn't work as well due to the lack of proximity.

Kind of reminds me of growing up as a kid.  We used to raise sheep.  'Thou the sheepy Pleo is a lot whiter than the ones we raised.  They were good animals.  Don't try to ride one though :o

What does a sheep do if you try to ride it? Do they buck?Bite?
As far as pleo heating up in certain outfits, yes they really do. I had Peeky's santa outfit on last night and he was very active. As he slowed down, I felt him and he was very warm. Much more then usual. I imediately took the coat off of him to let him cool down. The santa coat only had a strap of velcro under his waist covering the battery compartment but his whole body was very warm. Back to the t-shirts. ;D

The little short legs on the sheep go 90 miles an hour and it feels like you're riding a jackhammer until you fall off onto the weeds and rocks.  That's how it felt to me as a kid.  Only did it twice, (slow learner. ;))

that's so cute! I wish they would sell outfits like this for the pleos or if they are too thick and make it overheat then just sell pleos with the fur on them. It would be cool to have 2 different kinds of pleos, one with skin and one with fur

yeah that really is cute it shows a lot of potential for pleo customisation but yeah as others have said the problems of overheating and the touch sensors etc working in conjunction with these skins would have to be sorted first.
