Hello, you can set the clock for anytime you would like, night or day, For example, the standard example they give is, have Pleo wake up at 8 am. then he would go to sleep at about 10;00 pm. This would work for many people who are awake and go to bed during that time period, so the NOON clock feature, the clock battery button that you push on the back foot would be at NOON, to make that time period work.
Many people change the time period because of school or their work schedules, If you are sleeping during the early morning hours and work at night, you do not want your Pleo to be asleep when you are ready to play.
This is the easiest way to explain it to you.( for me, sorry I may make it too complicated..) If you are active and awake say from noon to 2:00 am. , you just adjust the time clock.
Pleo is going to be awake roughly during a 14 hr period, much like a real cat or dog would, Whatever time you want to have Pleo wake up, four hours from that time is the NOON Clock feature. For example,
Wake up 8;00 am, Noon =12:00 noon. Add +10 hrs, =10;00 P.M. Bedtime,
Wake Up 10;00 a.m, Noon =2:00 pm Add +10 hrs =12:00 a.m Bedtime, ( Midnight)
Wake up 12:00 P.M. Noon =4:00 pm, Add + 10 hrs =2;00 a.m Bedtime
Wake up 3:30 P.M. Noon =7;30 p.m Add + 10 hrs =5:30 a.m. Bedtime, I think you now understand, You can use this timeframe to set ANYTIME you want for your Pleo. When it is the NOON Time you want for YOUR pleo to be his NOON Time, then that is when you push the pin , paperclip, anything small into that foot hole to set the time, The rest is easy. In the meantime, if you just want to play with your Pleo, just push that hole in the foot and you can begin playing with your Pleo right away and then the next day or when it is close to the real time you want for Noon time, just redo it. You can change the noon clock time feature anytime you want as much as you want.
This is what is nice about Pleo Rb, you can choose when you want your pleo to be most active like a real pet to suit your lifestyle. Note that like a real pet, when it gets for example an hour or so before their set bedtime, it is not a good time to expect them to interact with a learning stone, etc, they will start slowing down and be tired though not asleep yet. Hope this makes sense and has answered your questions.
Good luck.
