Hi guys,

I've bought a Pleo for my daughter last christmas and today I tried upgrading it to LifeOS 1.1 with files provided here using SD method. The upgrade seemed to go fine with a lot of sounds all the time. After ca. 10min Pleo went silent and I though the upgrade was complete. I removed the SD card and turned it on again. Now he's going in "slow motion" and suddenly just stops responding. I tried downgrading it using 1.0.2 files from here and "demo" behaviour as well. It does not work!

Is there any kind soul out there that could help me and provide the "special" Ugobe patched 1.0.2 downgrade software?

Oh dear I had that problem too

I fixed it by using the demo and 1.0.2 upgrades and then letting Pleo just run straight through two battery charges without turning her off (except to change the battery of course). You could try that, also just double check that the battery is properly charged because that can cause issues too. I hope you get it resolved soon, sorry I can't be of more help.

So basically, no one has the real 1.0.2 patched downgrade from Ugobe and now since Ugobe does not exist anymore it is lost forever?

What is the difference of a patch and an sd card from Ugobe? Ugobe sent me an sd card with 1.0.2

The downgrade is different but no, no one here has it

I'm sure someone out there on the world wide web has it though...

The patched downgrade ereases (formats) your entire Pleo and installs the 1.0.2 software while "ordinary" 1.0.2 (such as yours) tries to install 1.0.2 software without ereasing anything. So if you have 1.1 it will not install 1.0.2 since 1.1 is newer...

Great news!

I was able to acquire the patch files from Ugobe so that one can downgrade and then upgrade Pleo to 1.1 without any hacks

Here are the instructions:

To solve your problem we will send you 2 folders as below :

Patch folder ( is to downgrade PLEO life OS to 1.0 version)

Step 1 Copy all the file inside the patch folder into 1 single SD card

Step 2 Insert the SD card and on PLEO

Step 3 There is 3 time tone to complete 1st is 1 tone , 2nd is 2 tone, 3rd is 3 tone

Step 4 Turn off PLEO and take out the SD card

Step 5 Done for Downgrading

Version 1.1 (is to upgrade PLEO life OS to 1.1 version)

Step 1 Insert SD card with the 5 files that include the version 1.1 Folder. (Make sure the SD card is empty before you copy the new software into it)

Step 2 TURN ON PLEO until PLEO is moving and then TURN OFF PLEO

Step 4 Take out SD card

Step 5 TURN ON PLEO and make sure it is back to hatching position

Step 6 DONE for upgrading.

Remark for Upgrading & Downgrading

PLEO's Battery must be charged full (3 - 4 hour or PLEO logo in front of charger from red turn green)

Insert SD card with the 5 files that include the version 1.1 Folder. (Make sure the SD card is empty before you copy the new software into it)

And of course... the files!

I contacted Pleo Malaysia and explained situation to them and their marketing department were very helpful

Hello,
I'm also experiencing some problem with my Pleo. After one year of norma use, it get very slow at stwiching on. Then I tried some downgrande from 1.1 to 1.02 and today to the 1.0. I also tried the Pathc and upgrade to 1.1 (I think the file name is revers, I heard the sounds 1 2 and 3 with the upgrade file not the Patch...) and now after a few tries nothing happend any more. Is there a way to flash it completly?

Can someone help me out? My Pleo doesnt do anything after it powers on. I was trying to upgrade it to 1.1, but the battery died before it finished. I am trying this downgrade, but I turn it on and nothing happens.

I got mine to work after running the 1.1 update using USB. is there a way to downgrade it using the USB cable? I want to restore it to normal and get the hatch mode back. FOr some reason my pleo doesnt want to read my sd card, but I can update it using USB. There is an RC directory under the 1.1 installer. I wonder if I can replace the image in there and put the restore one you posted.

I am not aware of a USB downgrade. For most people, it's the USB that doesn't work, and the SD card method fixes the problem. maybe some else will have a suggestion.
