Kiromanta greets the Pleo World
« on: September 11, 2012, 08:00:29 AM »

Hallo everybody!
What is the connection between a cleaning robot and a pleo?

That the way it started! I decided to get a little help, as I dont really like homework. Who does?
So I googled about and found a test about  Pleo, more by mistake.
My curiosity awoke and You Tube made the rest. I have had pets all my life, perhaps an alternative? And I do like to play.
But the price  frighten me.

Yesterday I found a Pleo by ebay.de, - and bought it.
I am aware of the risks, especially as the price was very low. It is an adventure  :)
And now I am  waiting, and waiting... hoping to get a parcel next week

It is not a Pleo RB, supposed to be one year ??? With a egg charger and battery, nothing else.
No skin problems. On the photo the head and teeth look like new.

By the way, I am happy with my scooba 230

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your soon to be Pleo. I think a older Ugobe is a good introduction to the world of Pleos. Be sure to post photos when you do and also perhaps your pleo with your scooby 230, that would be very interesting to see!                                                     RWM

welcome aboard :) Pleos are a bunch of fun.  Just watch out as they do have a tendency to multiply.  I too have a robot vacuum cleaner, mine is a neato and I love it to bits.  Using my old normal vacuum it would take me about 2 and 1/2 hours to do the whole house now I spend 5 mins tiding up and then press the go button and kick back and relax :)  It still takes about 2 1/2 hours to vacuum the whole house but now the robot does it for me so I can spend that time doing other more fun things  :D  Now I just need to convince my OH to buy me one that washes the floors for me......

I dont really know where to post, so I just continue here. Dont want to mess about in wrong thread. Just like to tell you how things are standing.

I am still waiting for my pleo from ebay.de. Yesterday I sent the seller an email. This evening I got the answer, stating my address were wrong and the parcel came back. The mail included a tracking number. And the seller wants parcel fee once more.

I really dont like the situation.  ??? I bought several things over ebay in the past two months and I always use Paypal. My data are correct.
But the tracking number does not work !?

Well, I send another € 6,90 for parcel fee via Paypal. That is not the problem.
I am asking myself why the seller did not contact me, if the parcel came back.
And I have found out that 3 days before I bought the Pleo the seller had sold a Pleo with same picture and same description. That makes me nervous.
Of course, it may be an coincident and the German post does mess up a lot

I will wait another week and hope for a happy end; if not,- I will have to contact ebay and paypal

Please, wish me luck. I do feel I need it.

I don't like the way this sounds, If sthe parcel went to the wrong address, it is not your fault and the parcel should have never gone out to start with. I am a seller and buyer on ebay. Whenever I sell or buy anything I allways doublecheck the shipping address that the item is going to and doublecheck with the buyer to ask them to verify their shipping address. Also paypal alerts the seller if the address the buyer is shipping to, is not what they have on file. The seller may have multiple pleos, so that in itself is not a red flag but you should not have to pay more postage...What is this seller's feedback, has he sold more of these Pleos, if so read his feedback to see if this is a single incident or a common occurance. If you do not get your Pleo within the next 7 days, do not bother contacting the seller again notify ebay and Paypal and open a Item not REcieved case, that will speed things up and see that you are protected.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!       :)                RWM

It does sound rather worrying. Please check your local ebay rules, here in Australia you are required to at least attempt to contact the seller for a refund before opening a paypal dispute.

I don't know much about ebay buying and selling as I've only ever bought a few things from there myself but having to pay a second lot of postage when the fault of wrong address is theirs and not yours seems wrong to me.  If they stuffed up I would think they should cop the bill.  Just my thoughts.

I agree with the others.  If your address is correct as given on Paypal, then I would speak to the seller as this is either their fault or the fault of the postal service/courier that they hired to deliver it.  Either way, not your fault so why should you pay?  A decent seller would not ask you to.

Thank you all for your nice replies; shared troubles are half troubles.  :'(

I do agree that double parcel fee is not correct in this case, but I did not want to fuss about that for the moment. It is not that much money. The seller has a 100 % feedback, since 2007 all positive. She sold a pink pleo and a pleo rb in august, which were positive rated within 10 days. The green pleo before me, were never rated at all. With 64 ratings in 5 year this seller is not very active, but none am I.
What annoys me, is the fact that my pleo was never "marked" as "sent out".  - I hope you understand what I mean, I do have some problem with English.
By ebay in Germany, you have to contact the seller several times before you can ask for cashback.
In other cases it always worked fine. That the reason I only buy with paypal by ebay.

Pleo has an egg charger, that makes the deal interesting, I think.
Well, for the moment I can just wait and hope.
I will keep you up to date   :)

My fingers are crossed for you that it all works out just fine in the end :) Waiting is always the hardest part and it is reassuring that the seller only has positive feedback.

Hi, I just re-read your post and noticed you said that it is a PLEO not a PLEO RB, and what caught my attention is that you said with an egg charger and nothing else. :o I assume you mean egg charger and battery that comes with the charger.( I have sold several egg chargers and battereies to Germany last year.) The fact you said, "Nothing else", is what I wondered about. So no manual or leaf is not a big deal, but if  you do not have the original Adapter, the egg charger and battery will not work, unless you have one...then you will have to go out and buy one...Perhaps you just did not mention that it also has a adapter..This could be why it was so "cheap".
The pleo you said that the person sold before yours had no feedback, which is ok. sometimes people are lazy and just do not leave feedback after recieving the item .. if there was something wrong it would be more likely that something was wrong. In the US. you are encouraged to contact the seller and try to work things out first, If they do not respond or you are still having problems or the item is recieved but not as advertised, that is when a Item not as described is opened or if the item does not even arrive. If after you  have sent the additional postage and you still do not recieve it within the ten days then I would be concerned.
The only thing I would reccomend is that when the Pleo DOES arrive, do not leave feedback till you know the Pleo does work . Was the pleo listed as , Excellent condition or Works well or was it SOLD " As is".? I would guess if you just paid for more postage that you should recieve your Pleo soon. I do hope everything works out the way you want and that the pleo arrives soon and you are happy with it. P:)

I just got an email from the seller of my pleo.
She apologized, as she had forgotten to write the street name on the parcel. And promised to refund me the double parcel fee. Promised to sent the parcel away tomorrow.

So now I am full of hope "my"  pleo will really arrive home next week.  ;D

@ RedwoodMama
Thank you for your concern.

The Pleo has listed as "like new", with original box, egg-charger and battery. No accessories. The photo shows only the Pleo and it really look like new. One leg makes a clicking noise, getting less during the session. Seems to be a common problem.
Before I made a bid I asked for more informations, especially to skin condition. The seller told me the Pleo was one year old with excellent skin without cracks and perfect funktions, but without leaf , ID Card or booklet. The adapter she did not mention.
I had a look at pictures of pleo adapter and I do think my universal adapter, which is exchangeable, will fit. I just have to find out how to set it. Except my Nokia Handy, I can charge everything with it.
The Instruction book I have already downloaded.

Of course, this Pleo was cheap because of missing parts. The Germans are extremely  sensitive about such things.
And I do know I take a risk with this buy. But the good look and the egg-charger were so attempting

For now I feel rather optimistic.  :)

Hallo,
I just want to keep you up-to-date with my pleo adventure.
So I did get the double parcel fee back, immediately.
And then, ....nothing. I am kind of stressed out now. No Parcel, no email, nothing  :'(

Today I send the seller an email, stating a deadline on 1. October.
I mean, a seller should be able to deliver within 3 weeks !
I really start thinking she sold the same pleo twice.  >:(

I guess I have to sort this deal out, and start looking for a new "old" one, when I have my money back

I think the 1st October is a very reasonable deadline :)  Try to keep your spirits up and don't let it get you down too much.  I'd like to hope that a package will turn up any day now and there will be a happy ending but if it doesn't at least you have set an end date for your torment.  We all know how it feels to wait but for you it must be awful not just waiting but not knowing and feeling a bit ripped off.

If it doesn't, there are a couple of RB's for sale here on the forum... %) at least you know the seller is safe.

I agree the date or deadline is more than reasonable, I am keeping my fingers crossed but I believe the seller is tending to keep their bargain and there have just been a lot of mishaps, which can be very frustrating and nerve wracking to say the least, esp when a first Pleo. Hoping you will have your Pleo soon and we will soon see photos. ;D
