There is a person on ebay who is selling sd cards with the Pleosaurus rex, halloween and so forth downloads for $15 EACH

Can they be reported, that is illegal.

If selling SD cards, probably no problem. If Ugobe was the source of the software being peddled, maybe so. why don't you send that to Ugobe and see if there's any life in the old beast after all.

It isn't Ugobe, it is the same person who was selling the batteries and chargers, they can sell SD cards there's no problem with that but selling them with software (and not specifying that that software is freeware from Ugobe) is very wrong. They don't have any up at the moment but if I see more I will try Ugobe

Why I brought up Ugobe? I don't know how free that freeware is. There could be a for personal use only clause in there. That's why I mentioned sending it to Ugobe.

Edit: As of 6:30 am no one had bid on the item. I also noticed the seller is across the bay in Oakland. Just to be sure I notified Ugobe.

Those downloads are for personal use, however even freeware has terms of use attached which specifies that it cannot be sold. If he had mentioned that they are available from Ugobe I think he might have been ok, but that page doesn't mention Ugobe anywhere.

I reported it to ebay as well, and gave them the Pleoworld web page they are on. Let them work it out

Heck ya know what, I don't think it's a bad idea at all. Like for example, myself. I don't speak a lick of technology. Never heard of a 'SD card' until I met Dallas! (Boy, what an adventure it's been since then!) To be quite honest, I don't even know how to put something on or take something off of an SD card. If it wasn't for Ugobe sending me a preloaded SD card with the 1.1 updater, my babies would have never been updated! So how much is a SD card, anyway? Is $15 a good deal for a SD card?

My two cents is, it's legal. He's only selling preloaded SD cards.

No its not simply because he has failed to mention that these downloads are someone elses and are available elsewhere. Had he mentioned that the programs belong to Ugobe and are available from their site it would have been acceptable.

the idea is not a bad one. What he should have done is listed SD cards for sale, and with each SD card purchase, you could select which of the FREE UGOBE downloads you wanted preloaded on it.

That would be selling a legit product and offering a good service to help promote his sales . . .
