[Crewella]

I'm afraid I've been a bit distracted over Christmas - having sadly lost two of my elderly cat brigade this year, and having heard about two older cats that had been waiting for a home for a year in the local rescue centre, the Crewella cat total is now back up to five!  

They're a real couple of characters, and inseparable, a one-eyed ginger girl and a big black fluffy monster of a boy with a cauliflower ear.

They've not stopped purring ......... but that might have been the prawns!

Aww the big fluffy is just perfect for cuddles The ginger reminds me of my one eyed ginger and white guinea pig, her name was Pirate, she had that same saucy look

I'm sorry to hear you lost two kitties...  But I'm glad you could give some kitties a wonderful new home!~ 
Do you have names for them yet?
The fluffy black one reminds me of my brother's old cat, Amp.

Thanks Bandersnatch, it was very sad to lose my two, but they were nearly 18 and it was just their time - I delivered them (I still have their mum) so I know they had a good and happy life.

The new two are now named, the black fluffy boy is called Bosko and the ginger girl is called Alpha.

I was so happy to see these two new cats made it to your home, It is allways sad to lose a freind,no matter what their age, but even more difficult when you have had them for so many years and you get to see them age. It is a reminder of our own mortality and as we approach the aging process, it is easier to identify with the aches and pain and when we see our lovely feline friends suffering or having a hard time, letting go and letting them have a bit of dignity is the best we can do for THEM. so many times it is about us...   I love the names you have chosen and I am so happy to see two older cats and one with a special need get adopted.
                 I don't know about in the UK, but here in the US, over pet population is a downright crime and it is the older ones who are almost allways ignored and these two were so lucky to have found you and you them, I am glad they went together. At this point in their life, they deserve some prawns, so bravo Crewella for helping these lovely fluffy felines, I am sure there will be an abundence of love more than you ever anticipated. What a purrfect Christmas present.

How old is the mama cat of the two you lost, Crewella? Your two new ones look sos sweet.

Giddy is 19 now, she's quite thin and frail but still active - she can just about jump onto the sofa and still comes out to the kitchen to see what's going every time one of us goes out there! 

One of the reasons I picked these two was also because of her - I wanted older cats that were sociable to lessen the chance of upsetting her.  Fingers crossed!

The big fluffy is taking a while to settle in - he's so big that the others keep taking fright and hissing at him, but Alpha the girl seems to be feeling quite at home!

 I guess her name suits her, Alpha as in Alpha Male or in this case, Female and she does look content and very happy lke she has been here all along. The male will settle down, the others probably do feel a bit out by his size and the fact he is a male, but time will heal all wounds and new friends will be made. So happy to see these two got a home and you got two new lovely souls.   I love tiger markings, my husband calls our boy, his Tiger Tuxedo cause he has the tiger markings, but proper little white spats and gloves.  He is dressed for dinner.

She does look rather content.   I'm sure the fluffy boy will settle in eventually.
I'm going through something a bit like that myself at the moment as I got a new little baby girl a couple of days ago as a belated Christmas pressy from my hubby.

I have called her Coco.  We got her from the cat haven - our local cat shelter that rescues and re-homes unwanted cats and kittens.  My other two boys are a bit put out and there has been a lot of sulking, refusing to be inside because the little scary baby is in there and some hissing and running away - them for the running away and both them and her for the hissing.  It is all beginning to settle down though with both the boys actually coming inside today and appearing to be a little more relaxed although very wary.  I'm sure with a few more days the staring matches and hissing sessions will be a distant memory and hopefully a lovely friendship will blossom.  Or at least a state of quiet tolerance

I'm sure Bosko will be delighted to hear that even little kitties get hissed at when they're new, I think he's feeling like Billy-no-mates at the moment! 

Coco is gorgeous, she looks like my Spook did when she was that age!    I'm so glad another cat got a great home for Christmas!
