Pleo RB Problems: commons?
« on: December 26, 2011, 04:01:15 AM »

Please could you tell me if these problems are commons in Pleo RB? The clack-clack sound is scary  :-\
Thank you

This pleo you are watching is Kermit my very first pink pleo rb.  She was one of the very first batch of pleo rb's and unfortunately she was a lemon.   She had a few different things go wrong with her and had to be sent back and replaced.  Since then Innvo have done a lot of work on the rb's to fix all the teething issues that occurred with the first batch. :)  The clicking you hear in the video is the clutch in her leg.  It is a safety mechanism that kicks in when the gears in the joint get stuck to prevent damage to the joint.  It is not something that happens very much in my pleo rb's but has happened on the odd occasion but it really is nothing to worry about.  If my pleo gets his foot stuck on the carpet I may hear the clicking but as soon as I move him to free his foot the clicking stops and he goes back to moving normally.   It sounds much scarier than it is :)  and it really doesn't happen very often.
Hope this helps alleviate your fears.

thanks Kat! very helpful! I hope to get a Pleo RB soon  ;) now i've finally deleted pm2 from my ugobe's pleo Glen. I hate that upgrade so much, i can't understand why Innvo can't create something that can really match Ugobe's first life forms laws  >:(

I'm curious, Junkroxy. What is it that you don't like about PM2?

Some owners here told me that you have to charge the battery 7-8 times to see your pleo in all his/her basic actions and answers, and for me it's an absurdity. After 2-3 recharge I was bored and angry after this PM2. My Glen never respond to basic actions like leaf, tickle, his actions were totally crazy - he cries and after a few seconds he laugh again, crazy!!! - he reacts like a stupid robo-toy for me, not a life form or something like that. For me that upgrade was incomplete, a primary study but incomplete and wrong  :-X

Now i'm back to 1.0, the best one if you want a 'real' dinopet ;)

Junkroxy - the first few battery cycles are horrible with PM2, I agree.  BUT they do get better and go back to normal behaviour ...... Iggy now does all he should and did originally, and the tricks are better.   ;)

i know, but it was boring and a waste of time waiting for a normal behaviour  :'( i still love life OS 1.0/1.02, there are many good things in it, cute sounds (tickling it's more funny than OS 1.1) and pleo acting really like a pet, maybe the walk it's not fluid and speedy like the other OS but i still love the first pleo incarnation ;)

Lol! Yeah. The true giggle during tickling was one of the things I liked about 1.0, too and missed in 1.1 when they replaced it with-- how do I describe it?-- it sounds like someone spitting out foamy toothpaste. Anyway I'm thinking about downgrading Ugobe back to 1.0 and comparing him to Bleu who is running PM2 and see if I note any other differences. Does anyone know if you need to downgrade gradually? In other words do I need to first go to 1.1 before moving to 1.0 or can I just go straight to 1.0 from PM2?

I still run Moschops on 1.0/1.0.2, so I do understand.  Here's my attempt to show the different giggles!

The downside of 1.0 is that they tend to go to sleep a lot when not interacted with, in my experience.  The later OSs seem more likely to explore.

1.0.2 is the earliest OS available, if you don't want Pleo napping you need 1.1
