Lets lighten the mood!
« on: March 29, 2009, 12:21:10 PM »

Seems like uncertainty of Ugobe and Pleo is hanging over me like a black cloud at the moment, my hopes of a parasauroluphus ugobe lifeform are looking grimer than ever so really looking for something to lighten the mood, anyone have any ideas?  :'(

Just seeing my little dinos everyday lighten my mood. Just being here together on the forum is my favorite place to be.
Chaleb Chung is the inventor, and I can't wait to see what's up his sleeve, next.  ;)

When I got lodged to this place via another member already here, I was very happy.
My mood went from " :'(" to  ";D" instantly!
Pleo is having a great time at my place and I've got so much to tell you guys about my Pluriel! I really did miss the community that loves Pleo as much as I do.
So despite the fact Ugobe is leaving it's community in the gutter, we are strong and find one another again and go on by our own means and rules!

For anyone who would like to learn to draw dinosaurs, especially, all of you stick drawers, I found a wonderful book by Doug DuBosque on drawing dinosaurs. The way the book is laid out, I do believe, anyone can do these. The book will, definitely, help me in my next painting.
BTW, the first dinosaur to draw is the camarasaurus, followed by the allosarus. Perfect book for you Allo!! ;)

The books name is Draw Dinosaurs by Doug DuBosque It's an art instruction book that I bought at an art store. It is a Peel Productions, inc. You might try to call 1-800 289-0963
This book provides step-by-step instructions for drawing dinosaurs one line at a time or for beginning with ovals, triangles, and forms. Terrific book!! :)

Oh! I have that one! :D
The only objection I have to it is that the Allo lacks crests. It only has little bumps, whereas an actual Allo has "hornlets."

Allo, This is really a great book!At the moment I'm working on a large painting of an Anchiceratops and her baby. I'm cheating a little, well, actually, alot! ;D I just happened to really like a poster that came folded up as advertisement (forgot I had it) from the National Geographic Magazine, and I'm trying to copy it. It's called Dawn on the Delta. 49er found it on the computer if you want to check it out. There will be a few camarasaurus babies it my painting, though.  ;D
This book is for my next painting which will be an original. ;)

Tyrannosaurus (Actually, D-Rex looks more like an Albertosaurus XD) and Allosaurus have many, many differences. More than you could probably tell by looking at it. And anyways, I think it's disgracesul that so many people think Allosaurus is just a "Stupider, smaller, cousin of T-Rex." Allosaurus was a carnosaur, for crying out loud, Tyrannosaurus was a Tyrannosaur! T-Rex sucks up all the attention. Seriously. The only good thing about it is its jaws. Allos had strength closer to a lion bite. If you were bitten by a rex, however, it would be like being crushed by a pickup truck. Rexes were slow and stupid, and some people are mislead to think that it's the largest dinosaur, when in reality it's pretty much dwarfed by the Argentinosaurus (biggest dino ever discovered). And Allos probably cared for their young, and cooperated in packs. In the past, i've hated T-Rex, but I'm getting just a lil bit fonder... Not very much, I have to say.

In short,  even though I'm happy someone actually read and replied to my post helpfully, just no. Though I am rather looking forward to getting a D-rex... Gonna name it Kosaburo after the japanese name of a character in pokemon. ;) I'm also making an AlloBot out of my NXT Mindstorms kit.

However, I could do a little bit of internal modification if i get a second D-Rex. That's what engineers like my dad are good for! XD

P.S. Wow I can go on for a long time ranting about a dinosaur subject. LOL

I wrote about this Library book that I'm readying now somewhere in a post,  This one I highly recommend to anyone interested in dinosaurs. The book is illustrated beautifully. Many of the movies of dinosaurs most likely came from the photos and information in this book. The title is Kingfisher Illustrated Dinosaur Encyclopedia. By Daniel Burnie. You will love it! :)

yeah, but the big question is did the actual t rex hunt? or was he lazy, tbh he was too big to run very fast like a raptor or allosaus

New discoveries show that Allosaurus was far faster than a full-grown rexie, but a young rexie is about equivalent to an Allosaurus.
And T-Rexes were hunters and scavengers, based on fairly recent evidence. So wre Allos, though.

(And that's why I don't think it would work if people wanted Pleo to play dead, as it has been suggested in the past. An Allosaurus wouldn't care if it was already dead; It would go ahead and eat it! XD)
