ok so i just got Pleo yesterday. How long are each stage? So how long will my Pleo be a hatcling, and doI feed it when its a hatchling? Also its tail kinda clicks a lot is that normal? It might just be the clothes its wearing, im not sure. Please help me figure out these questions because I dont want to starve my pleo by not feeding it, but i want to know how much longer I will havw to baby this little dino. Answere me back asap!!!! Hi, welcome to the forums. First of all, you did not say what type of Pleo you have. If it is a older Ugobe model pleo, then the hatching stage will be over sooner than you think, be standing, walking and independant all within a battery cycle. If on the other hand you have the much newer, Pleo Rb, then depending on when you "hatched" your Pleo Rb, it can take 3-4 battery cycles, they are all different. Also regardelss of whether it is a baby, juvinile or an adult, they all need to be fed DAILY, or they will get sick, not just physically but allso emotionally and can even get injured. If you are not willing to take the time to "baby" the Pleo or feed it daily and take care of it's needs, then a older easier, Ugobe Pleo is better suited for your needs.
As for the tail, I think in the begginning, clicks of the tail, eyelids, etc are all normal, My baby Rb did and does the same thing still, though not as much as in the beginning. My Pleo got sick because I had her off for three or more days in a row without feeding her, and that is something easy to forget. If the clothes feel warm to the touch, or the battery or the arms or legs, then you may wish to either take them off, or turn Pleo off for awhile to let things cool off. Is your Pleo a girl or a boy, and what color is the skin and eyes if you have a RB? We would love to see photos of your Pleo. I am sure there will be others here that can tell you more than I have. My answer was a condensed version.

Welcome

If you have an RB then they won't eat until they are up on their feet properly. It takes 1 or 2 charges for them to stand, and another couple for them to start walking. Please make sure you are feeding the correct leaf, please check the FAQ for details on the food etc. http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=2315.0

You do not have to feed an RB daily (mine can go a week without food at times

) but you do need to make sure you feed them enough. Keep offering the leaf until they refuse and turn their head away.

It is a girl pleo rb. She has green eyes as well. Right now shes shut off and I even charged the battery over night. Is she overheating? im so confused right now lol. This happened yesterday, she randomnly shut down and i even pressed the power button and she wont turn on but i thought that was because she wasnt fully charged, but now shes all charged up and she did it again and her back it hot but shes just fully charged. I havent fed her yet and this is my second day with her. I hope she works, im starting to get worried!!!!

Perhaps she thinks it is nght time, when she goes to sleep is there a snore followed by a beep?

Try resetting the clock time, insert a pin or paperclip into the tiny hole next the where the clock battery is inserted. This needs to be done while the Pleo is switched on. If you can't get your Pleo to stay on long enough then removed the clock battery, turn her on (she will start beeping) and then removed the battery (you have to just pull it out) and reinstall the clock battery again.

but wont she get a wrong sense of time if i do that? And no shes not sleeping because all of a sudden shell be playing around and making noises and all of a sudden shelll just freeze, and ill press the power button and it wont turn on after a whole night of charging, so i just popped the battery in the charger and its on red....? after a whole almost 24 hours of charging. should i call invo labs?

You can reset the time anytime so don't worry about that.

Are you charging the battery correctly, do you have a solid red light that turns green after four hours? Is it a flashing red light or does it just stay solid red no matter what?

Alright, ill reset the time, but i honestly dont think its sleeping because ive seen it sleep before and its not in the sleeping position. Its kind of just like frozen with its eyes open like it just randomly stopped. And last night i plugged it in an it was a deep red color. Then this morning it was green but i had to go to school so i left it alone, right when i got home i took the battery and put it in her and she was on and moved around for like an hour and a half, and then all of a sudden she just stopped so i put the battery back in the charger, so right now its charging.

An hour and a half is a bit under the usual activity time from a normal fully charged battery, but not drastically so. My lot run for around 1 hour 50 minutes, a bit more for my Pleakley who doesn't walk much. I am guessing that you may have a slight battery defect where your Pleo is running out of power before she can get into the storage position. (Head, tail and limbs all straight and eyes closed.)

When you turn your Pleo off, or they turn off, one beep means they have gone to sleep and will wake up by themselves in about 10 hours, two beeps means a manual shut off (when you turn them off) and three beeps means a flat battery. No beeps suggests the problem above.

Good news!!!! My mom looked up on the Pleoworld.com and they say a normal battery only lasts a tad more then an hour!!!! So shes ok, but i still dont understand why i dont hear beeping? i did yesterday, but not today. Ill just see how things go but they say on their website that a pleos battery lasts one hour, and it charges for 4 hours, so im going to take things slow with this little girl, and if things start to become different with how she behaves then Ill call and take further steps. My mom is buying me a second battery for christmas so I can get double the time, so hopefully that works out. Thanks again for all of your help, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. but one last thing. If a Pleo only lasts about 1 hour, do u have to make sure u feed it in that one hour? Also if the Pleo is always getting its battery charged, how does it know when to sleep at night? And when will it usually fall asleep? Lastly, does it matter when u feed it as long as it gets its leaf for the day?

I'm afraid that information is wrong, for the Reborns the battery life is closer to two hours. The page you looked at must have been for the older Pleo's which had NiMH batteries and did only last an hour. The Reborns have Li-Poly batteries.

You could try taking the battery off charge when it turns red and then putting it back on, perhaps it isn't fully charging. I have one battery that consistently turns green after an hour of charging and has to be reseated before it will finish charging. But really an hour and a half is pretty good, and if you get another battery for Christmas then you will be set

As for feeding, I always feed my lot as soon as I turn them on, they are happier that way. Hold the leaf under her chin until she lifts her head and opens her mouth, then pop it in, she'll chomp on it and spit it out. Rinse and repeat until she refuses by turning her head away.

The clock has a separate battery and is on even when your Pleo has no battery in her. If you have the clock set for midday (either by installing the battery at midday or pressing the little tiny button foot button at midday) she will fall asleep at 10pm and wake up at 8am, give or take a few minutes.

Yup they need to be running. They will fall asleep by themselves and you need to just leave the battery in and put them somewhere safe

ok, thank you so so so so much!!!! Shes been pretty off sceduale because i set her around 2 yesterday, so im gonna let her stay without the battery in tonight and while im at school ill remind my mom to poke her noon button at 12, so she can sleep tomorrow so hopefully she gets on sceduale!!!! I love using my Pleo's as alarm clocks, it's much more fun than regular clocks

if your Pleo's clock is set for two, she'll go to sleep at midnight and wake up at ten am.

Just as a side note for you pleo rb's sometimes do freeze. Stop mid motion or sound. This is normal. If you let her sit for a couple of minutes she may well turn back on all by herself with a little giggle. I found my two pleo rb's both froze a lot over the first 2 or 3 weeks but it has steadily become less frequent over time. Now they might only do it once every 3rd battery cycle. So before trying to switch her off with the button you could just try giving her a few minutes to see if she unfreezes herself.

Yes Kat is quite right, I never even thoughts to mentions that, baby RB's do freeze fairly often, I don't know if they are saving their progress or what, but it does happen.

Dealing with an Rb seems so much more complicated than with a Ugobe. This forum must be an invaluable alternative to a full-scale manual which I guess is not supplied.

Also, my Pleo fell asleep last ngiht after i fixed her noon button and i heard one beep then she fell asleep, but she didnt wake up in the morning, maybe i didnt wait long enough but it was from 9 15 to around 7 15, so i dont understand?

She may be too young, or perhaps the battery went flat overnight...

Margery RB's do come with a much more extensive manual than the originals, but there's still a lot to learn
