i tried making a quick skit for my pleo i downloaded the skit to a SD card it worked but when i turn pleo on he just sits their i don't know what i'm doing wrong? the files on the SD card are

motions.inc
pleo.urf
pleo1.urf
PMap.cfg
skitlist
sounds.inc

when i download a pleo skit from this forum their are only three files pleo.urf, pleo1.urf and readme... do i delete some of the files? or do i zip them then unzip the files onto the stick? I'm just confused

I'm just a beginner with MySkit myself, but until the REAL experts like IMR or Pleopet come in I'll try!

When you download a skit from here does that run in your Pleo OK? First thing is to make sure what OS your Pleo is running as only 1.1 onwards will run skits, I believe. Those three files are fine, your Pleo will choose from the two urf files, Pleo or Pleo1, and ignore the other two files, so they're OK. That's how it should be.

she works with all the skits i tried of here my pleo run OS 2 so would i just get rid of the other files and just keep pleo and pleo 1? how lond should i wait before she does anything she was taking way longer then the skits on here or do i touch a sensor

OK. As long as other skits run in the Pleo then it must be the MySkit process.

There will be several files on there so I wouldn't necessarily remove them, though it is worth touching a sensor to make sure that's not the problem. Can I just check how you copied them onto the card with MySkit?

i set up the drive that had the SD card in it... and i wrote it on the root of the card I'm confused on this "A window appears for selecting an action directory (see right). The action directory is simply a folder where you've saved all the PLEO skits (*.pleo files) you want included." do i make a folder on the card to put all the files on (or only certain files?) when the little box showed up to assign a skit to a sensor their were no skits to drag and drop... maybe i'm getting this whole thing wrong?

OK - as far as I remember there is a particular process for creating the skit onto a card, not just copying across as you might think. Bear with me and I'll check the manual, we'll get there - but please remember I've only done this a couple of times myself!!

You're not being a pest at all! It ain't easy!!

This is copied from IMR's MySkit guide:

To try the skit out you first need to setup your flash drive.
Go to file, set up flash drive.
Choose the output destination, you can either write directly to your SD card or you can write to a folder some place, you will need to save to a folder if you want to be able to upload the files to the internet later or have them available for easy access for yourself at a later date.

If you save to a folder and wish to save more than one skit then either save each skit to its own subfolder or zip up each skit after saving it. You CANNOT change the pleo.urf and pleo1.urf file names, meaning that if you save two skits to the same folder the new one will overwrite the old one. (If you zip your skits make sure you unzip them before putting them on a memory card.)
If you write straight to an SD card then you will be able to take it out of your SD drive and put it straight into your Pleo.

Ok so your ready to write! Click the write button up in the menu bar. (its over to the right)
Choose the folder which contains your saved skits and choose ok.
Once all your skits are loaded you can drag and drop them into event slots, (one for each sensor) or you can just have your skit run as soon as Pleo wakes up. You can have up to 10 skits combined in the one .urf file. Once your happy with everything hit the ok button and your skit will be prepared.
If you saved direct to your SD card you can now take it out and try it in your Pleo.

Have a look at IMR's guide, you get pics to show you what the screen will look like. Have you done the set up the flash drive bit?

OMG thanks for the help i looked at the guide and it worked

but the music is so low i can't hear it i will maybe need to find the mp3 file of it...

Fab!! I'm so pleased!!

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was when I first tried my first attempt! Sound quality was so much worse, movements so much less defined. I'm learning to keep trying as I go along!

Still - we're learning!!

OK. Don't panic. Switch off, put the battery in to charge, and we'll try to work it out. Is the freezing intermittent? How long is it freezing for?

i turn her on she does some movements then just freezes... she was sitting their like that for 2 mins till i put the battery on the charger...

And is it possible that the battery just ran out of juice? Both Iggy (on OS2) and Budge (OS1.1) often just stop in their tracks when the battery runs down, instead of going into the sleep position. It's so easy to assume cause and effect when you're trying something new, so it's best to check the basics first!

Most likely just a flat battery, I'm glad you got the skit to work

Crewella is more knowledgable than she let's on

you can increase the volume of the music/sounds in MySkit by selecting all the sound wave, right clicking and choosing increase volume

I'm just not yet confident enough to take on the responsibility of potentially 'bricking' somebody's Pleo without warning them first! I've learnt just about enough to realise how much I still don't know!
