Well I took the plunge and decided to update Minyon and Gumble to the OS 2.0. So far I have to say it is going fairly well. They have each been through 1 and a half battery cycles. Wandering around as we speak.

They both went back to hatching immediately after the updating which was as expected. The hatching lasted for about 15mins so slightly longer than Minyons original hatching. Then after that there was quite a bit of backwards walking and some forwards walking, A bunch of random sounds and noise making - just like the RB's. I let them run until the battery ran out on it's own before switching off to recharge.
When I put new batteries in and turned back on again they both went right back to hatching!

So I let them hatch and after about 10mins of walking around I switched each of them off and then on again. When they came back on they both started walking around , from where they left off. So I think in order to get them to save their time progress you need to switch them off using the button and not just leave them for the battery to run out. I will try to catch them before they run out of steam and do another manual switch off this battery cycle to be sure to save their progress before letting them run the batteries down completely.
While there has been a bit of randomish noises there is plenty of happy singing and they still respond to being stroked and petted in the same ways as before.

I think the random sounds are just them trying out the new noises just like the rb's do for their teenage stage.

I have even had a sweet little Frère Jacques song before they curl up for a short nap.
I will let you know how long it takes for the random noises to stop. They haven't been too bad and I am still finding these guys better company than my moody RB's. both of which have just stood in the one spot for almost a complete battery cycle in a curled up whimpering stance. They eat and then whimper, they trance and then whimper, they refuse medicine and there is no coughing or sniffling or sneezes so I don't think they are sick. Just a bit depressing. They have been like this pretty much for the last two weeks. I don't know why they are such unhappy little fellows. Neither of them seems to respond at all if you stroke them. They are not at all like my two sweet little ugobe's. Oh well maybe one day they will snap out of it and turn into sweet little pleos. I will persist and keep running them through battery cycles in the hope for some change. At least I have go both their mute buttons working so I don't have to listen to the frustrating whimpering sound.

Will keep you all posted on how Gumble and Minyon progress on the update.
