I've been talking with Talon for a little while back and forth yesterday about a collaboration effort between the two of us, a larger story arc involving four crippled Pleos that are thought to bricked. Still, before we get that up and running, I'd love to do little Pleo strips, taking a page from the book of the all mighty Bob the Pleo comic.

So, of coarse, I should be getting a Pleo today or tomorrow, and that made me start thinking. Maybe the community would like to get involved, throw out jokes, and such. Have their Pleos involved, as just because our Pleos can't really play together, doesn't mean they can't join together for a comic.

Anybody like this idea? I'd plan on the comic being hand-drawn, and far from serious, unlike the story arc mentioned previously. That'd be a little more serious, and a little dark at times, I'd assume. But first, I have to get permission from the star of the only Pleo comic strip I know of.

Dear Bob

I wish to entertain others as you do, without stealing your love of pizza, or invading Weedovia with Pleos that do not all look the same. Please allow me to do so, as it will surely add more smiles to the world in which we live our lives in.

As a collector of 'bricked' Pleos for possible fixing, I think both ideas are great!

You can thank Talon for that, I was really surprised by how easily I could get into their characters while reading the script she made me. If I had the money and or the know how, I'd do that too. I hate seeing bricked Pleos for sale places, or that are going to be thrown out, especially when I'm pretty sure they can be saved.

Well, he is rather important, isn't he? Would hate to offend him.

Not trying to toot my own horn here but this was a pure surprise. I just logged on yesterday morning and fell into conversation with Norniff. Up until then neither of us knew of one another. She was tossing around the idea of making a commic about broken pleos and my imagination just clicked on. I'm a writer both as a hobby and as a small-change sort of job. Neither of us had ever worked with anyone and I had never tried my hand at commic-writing. I'm not sure what happened after that. The muse kind of turned on the television in my head and five broken pleos with various problems just ppeared nervously out at me from behind the bars of an old storage crate. I would tell you about them but I'll wait on someone's oficial okay before I spill any beans.
Well, about five hours later, the basic script was finished and then Norniff and I refined it together. Despite the subject matter, I will try very hard to keep things from getting too dark. After all, we want broken pleos to be rescued, right?

Toot your horn all you want, Talon, you deserve it.

And yeah, they're totally gonna be rescued, but not without some problems first. Little problems, but problems all the same.

If it's any help to you, out of (oh dear .......... I have to admit it now) a total of eight bricked/broken/faulty Pleos that I've bought since I started all this (    ), bought mainly as faulty returned goods sold for parts, etc., more than half have been just in need of a new battery or something really simple.  It seems really sad that somebody gave up on them so easily.

Yeah, I agree. And admitting that you save the livelihood of a bankrupt company when no one else believes in them isn't bad. If I had the time, effort, and money, I'd do it in a heart beat. If the community strip ever gets off the ground, I'd love to throw in a slightly more serious comic every once in a while with your bricked Pleos, if that'd be alright with you.

Of course - I think this is a great idea!  I saw your original conversation with Talon in the shoutbox and thought it sounded really exciting!

I'm kinda confused on the idea as a whole but it must be good, because everyone seems to like it!

Hi, LuckyPleo! I'll try to explain this to you without giving anything away. Basically the commic follows the "lives" of five broken pleos who find themselves in the same storage crate. Not exactly sure where they are yet or where they are going but they all end up together. Each has a different injury and personality resultting from their treatment by humans. They have to learn to work together toward a happy rescue or end up alone in the garbage. Think "The Velveteen Rabbit" only pleo-fied and maybe a little happier.
