Wow I feel very bad for Ugobe, since they probably knew that people were going to get REALLY mad at them (especially near Christmas) when they move.  They must of have some sort of reason, though, otherwise they would of just moved later in the year (or at least a warning in advance that they were moving!).  :-\

Oh, by the way, does anyone know where they are moving, or if they're moving at all?  ???
I sure hope i didn't miss anything in the forums...I never get enough time to read everything...

They were moving to an inhouse server instead of a hosted one I believe.  They are consolidating all of their offices into Boise arn't they, or is it Emeryville, I forget which one was closed.

They had two offices.  One in Emeryville, California (San Francisco area) and one in Boise, Idaho.  They are consolidating in Boise.

And I noticed earlier today, the pleomalaysia.com site gives the exact same error message as pleoworld.com.  So, not only do the look almost identical, I'm suspicious that they share the same hosting . . .   ::)

Nope, pleoword.com is at 208.156.112.162, which is hosted in the US and the pleomalaysia.com is hosted by a differn't company in Malaysia at 203.223.154.

They may share some of the same content.

They must have copied the complete site setup, as it looks identical (with a few minor changes) and a number of the links (including the error page) all link back to pleoworld.com

it's quite annoying since it's been a couple weeks and still basically no improvement. pleoworld is up but you can't even plog and the forums don't work which has been dissapointing. As soon as i got my pleo i really wanted to plog about her and share pics of her on the forums but it's been a week and i still haven't been able to   :( ohwell... I hope they're back up soon but i'm happy on here :)

I started these forums on December 12th, which means the last day PleoWorld was up was December 10th.

I think they would restart the forum when they'll have something new about upgrade and new product ::)

They're tired of being stormed by people wondering what the next life form will be.  :P

Maybe they're changing the whole site, as if they have a new life form, it's not gonna be called Pleo, therefore, the site cannot be called Pleoworld. Am I correct?

They have ugobe.com maybe they could put some updates there, or open another site for another product. I know they're working on 1.2 and the next life form (not expensive like pleo  ;))

I think that they will open a new website for each of their lifeforms if they evr bring out another one:  e.g.

ugobe.com - parent company site
pleoworld.com - pleo specific site
newworld.com - new lifeform specific site.

I think degers is correct.  Even back over a year ago when PleoWorld was young, that was he assumptions the PlwoWorldHosts talked about.  Each life form would get it's own "World.com" site.

According to that news article from The Boise paper last Christmas, the new life form is supposed to be smaller, more portable, and cheaper.  Can we say "Furby, Mark 2"? ;)

I sure hope they're updating the pleo website,  since pleo hasn't been around that long.  I would be pretty mad if I found out that pleo's already obsolete.  Degers, I did read about the next ugobe lifeform a little while back, and it said that it was going to be released somewhere around October...RELEASE!

It's in the "ugobe" thread here in the Pleo Cafe.

The new life form being smaller and more portable leaves out something that will take out the garbage. :( Oh well!! I did see an article that mentioned  the new life form might not be for entertainment. So there's still hope that it can do chores. :)
I'm hoping that next life form will be interactive with pleo.

Lornex is right!  www.ugobe.com is down once again, with a message that the site is being updated.  Oddly, if you go to ugobe.com (without the www) you still get that infamous "It Works!" message. :P

And fancyfont, small dos not leave out taking out the trash.  Maybe Ugobe has designed some nanobots that will eat the garbage! ;)
