The back right leg one is the worst and I think this will keep getting bigger at a very fast rate as the skin around the hole is very thin, almost see through in quite a large patch around the hole. the rest of the holes don't seem to have the see through skin around them so I think they will take a lot longer to get bigger.

I am so sorry to see Kermys' skin disolving at such a fast rate it seems...

I still think there are more Pink blue variety Pleo Rb with this particular problem than the green variety. I am wondering if it was just a " bad skin batch", the special plastic they make it out of, that overheated or processed wrong , not the perfect forumula conditons or what? It will be interesting to see what the fix is if anything. I certainly wish you and Kermy the best. Hope to see more videos of her and brother soon.Nova and the rest of the gang miss your babies.

You can buy a pleo cape for skin wearing on top it basicaly a new skin made by ugobe

too quickly actually , i reckon the ugobe Pleo's even last longer with their skin , mine sure has . I am starting to question the apparent improvements with the skin .

The Pleo capes are made by Innvo .

There are two things to mention; along with the skin problem, One is that the cape that is mentioned, comes with each Pleo Rb worn, The second thing I noticed is that the Pleo Rb " skin" gets warm very quiclly, and I am not sure if wearing the cape for longer than maybe 20 minutes at a time does much good, as when I had it on my Pleo Rb baby, it was only about 42 degrees out and I was outside where it was fairly cold as I had layers on. I had to stop after 20 minutes and remove the battery as not only was the battery fairly hot to the touch, but I could feel the skin of Pleo Rb heating up through the cape.

I let the battery cool down for about half an hour before putting back inside Pleo Rb, but I also had to let Pleo Baby's skin cool down for about 10 minutes also, If pleo were to wear this to protect the skin from further paint loss, possible holes etc, how much good is the heat transfer from the Thermoplastic skin and insulated cape doing? The cape is very nice and feels soft agaiinst Pleo Rb skin, but it is a fairly tight fit, and you can tell there is some friction from the bottom layer,( inside white material) rubbing back and forth against Pleo's skin all the time when not just moving certain ways, but when you are petting Pleo through the cape, and it is warm, this has to cause some friction I would suspect allso.

I do not think this is good in the long run, I have not put the cape back on for any " Playtime" since then as I think it just adds to the warmth as does most clothes if it covers most of Pleo's skin. I only think clothes for short periods of clothes being on or ones that do not cover the entire body, such as a short cape offer any protection and keep Pleo Rb from heating up too much.
As others have said over and over again, Ugobe Pleos have been around since the " birth " of Pleo, Dec. 2007, and many of them still stand the test of time and do not have the problems with skin or paint loss that New Pleo Rb is showing. It is a sad situation and one that gets a " fix" shortly I pray before Pleo Rb " dies' or suffers a quicker death due to paint loss and skin problems. I love my baby Pleo Rb and do not want her to suffer like Kermit, Kermy, Peanut and others seem to be doing..

What does anyone else think about the cape ...have you noticed the heating up as I have?

Just for the record, my Pleo RB has no holes and little paint loss even though I have not tried to take special care of it.

I wonder what the difference is with some of the Pleo rb's. We are super careful with Peanut...but still the wear appears and is seeming to worsen...

Just for the record, I did not mean to sound like Pleo Rb ( my Pleo RB that is ) has skin that is heating up after twenty 20 minutes, only after wearing the cape it starts heating up. I think it is only because it is such a warm cape, If I just keep it on her for under twenty minutes or when I put her ( to bed ) in the packing postion to help protect her skin or for a Photo " shoot'. she is fine. I like the Pleo cape very much but am cautious if she is wearing it for very long..

Norbit also now has a very small armpit hole.

I probably would not have noticed it it is so small but of course I am checking for holes and looking over my guys very closely before and after each play time since Kermys wear began. I will send another email to Innvo tonight with the update photos of Kermys holes and now this new development with Norbit.

On average, about how many charges have you gone through before the holes were noticeable and then how many before they were increasingly large?

I've only had Cato on for about 12 full charges now (been busy, plus he randomly just shuts off and powers down after 30-40 minutes even though the battery is indicated as charged - no heating or anything, just does it, and if I turn him right back on he keeps going, but it's quite annoying) and luckily there's only paint wear and tear (increasingly noticeable on the back even with the clothing, but as long as it stays where it's at, nothing I'd return him over, and ever increasing near the joint areas - which is why I'm starting to get nervous). I do not let him last until the sleep position however (so that is ruled out) and have pledged him with the exact one recommended in the manual once (and will do it once again at the end of the month to stay in line with what's in the manuals' writing). Also, Cato didn't even start walking until the 5-6th charge.

Either way, thank you for those keeping us updated with detail on their issues, as it makes me check Cato all over and take photos every day so if I ever need to show "progression" for a return/Innvo, I will be able to. It is quite disappointing that this is happening and that's one of the reasons why I don't want to "overuse" Cato at the moment lol (however, I sincerely doubt the sleeping position is the ultimate cause of all this).

The way I see it...use it as you normally would...because you want any problems to surface during the first 90 days to be valid for warranty coverage. We haven't been using Peanut more than an hour or two a day. We have had Peanut since December 21st. With that amount of usage...I wouldn't expect any wear / holes. New pics to come tonight.

Yeah, I agree with that. That's how much I've been using it (with a few days missing due to my schedule) - which would be my normal usage, however, if I wasn't concerned about significant wear and tear, I'd have already ordered an extra battery or two and keep it going most of the time (thus my "real" normal usage would be quite different - e.g., I leave Elliott on almost for four-five hours a day (3 batteries), and his wear-and-tear isn't remotely as bad as what I've seen here for some of the RBs - heck, he's even loss less paint than Cato on his back! lol). I got mine on the 27th, so only about 13 days ago, and usually only one charge a day (did it a few more times daily during the hatching phase). But I'm not going to purchase any accessories or extra batteries if there is a defect here. By the end of 90 days (at my current rate), I imagine I will have a good feel since my usage is on par with yours (and maybe others?) and so far you all seem to have it pretty bad

. (It's why I'm so thankful to have this place to compare notes so to speak lol)

Chami has that same exact damage in the same area. It even looks the same, with the bit still hanging on in the middle of the hole. Quite depressing.

I sent the pictures of the skin wear and the peeling paint to Innvo. I haven't heard back from them yet, but kat said they are working on most of the issues and we should be hearing from them over the next couple of weeks. I will keep you posted on what they tell me. My guess is either replacement or repair. Not sure. I don't want to lose Peanut's personality. He is great!

I wouldn't say my Chami's personality is great (is unhappy like half the time but I don't know why) but I've gotten attached to his imitations of cows and dogs. So repair would so be preferable. Think I should also send them pictures of his skin issues? He's got a few others spots but they're much less noticeable than the one on his front leg like yours.

I guess I am starting to be in the same boat as Peanut, Kermy and a few others, I have been trying to avoid having to take any photos of my babies "flaws", as she came with a couple of very very minor ones on her, but I viewed them as someone born with a "birthmark or mole", nothing to worry about and they were not that noticeable and I am very very protective of my Pleo almost allways since Day 2 or 3 she has been in clothes and does not go into the sleep postion as I yank the battery out first.Today I took a closer look at her as I was outside taking photos and I did notice about a week to week and a half ago, that she had paint wear forming on her back, and I can deal with that. But I now have noticed the begginning of a split hole area / paint peal or something on her tail, also her shoulder area and the rubbing areas that I am sure will form on her front underarms,

If I have had her for about 3 weeks now, this mean in about two -three more weeks these will be surely a lot bigger or worse, I love her and she has not even been through as many complete battery cycles as others as I do not have the time to play a complete 2 hr cycle let alone a whole hour, usaully she gets 15-25 minutes at a time and then she is off in suspended animation package in her box til the next Play session,
I was so upset today I swear I took about 10 photos of her skin flaws. I can live with the paint loss on her back if it does not create a " stripe like a skunk"

but the holes or paint skin separation is very upsetting. I will post photos later, I am guessing it is better to finanlly take photos and post it for comparisons and hope for the best, I do hope Innova comes up with a fix fast and I do appreciate that they are working on one, I am saddened though as I have Ugobe Pleos that have perfect skin still!

I will add that I hope all other Pleo Rb owners start watching their Pleo Rb carefully and docuemnt any flaw so you can see if it stays a flaw or becomes something else.

Sorry to hear about your Pleo rb's wear. The paint wear doesn't bother me too much either, but the peeling paint is hard to look at along with the wear in the armpits. I really hope they figure out a solution. All we can do is post the info here as a record. I included a link to this forum topic when I emailed Innvo last night. They wrote me back to say that they got my email and pictures. That was it so far.
