New Pleo owners FAQ Version 1.0

Crewella:
Glad you've a Pleo ordered, at least!  :D

Hard to judge what it will come with as each Pleo was issued with the latest OS when they were made - most likely to be 1.0 or 1.1.  You do need to go through 1.1 and run for a little time before going on to OS2 - you can find them on Pleoworld or in the downloads section on here.  The earlier updates could be done by USB cable or downloaded onto an SD card, the OS2 is available for SD card only.

Good luck!  :D

Sigh:  typed all that then Pleopet did it better!! :P

I just got a new UGOBE Pleo it arrived about 30 mins. ago. the spare battery had charge but then the pleo was awake long enough to go to infant stage and eat then the battery died and i had to use a tv remote and iPad charger to keep his head straight  :(. How can I make him automatically go into original position? P.S. The black button didn't work. :(

Talon:
Odd. Did you try pressing it for about thirty seconds? When he goes into the packing position, he'll stand up straight, get very still and honk once. It took me several tries to get the timing right. The first few times I only succeeded in muting and raising his volume and didn't get anywhere. Then I got the bright idea to count slowly to thirty and it worked. Hope this helps. Oh and welcome to the forum!

does moving the clutches also work?

kat:
I would not recommend forcing his limbs by hand as you may damage the cables in his neck if you do that.  I hold down the little black button and count to twenty then let it go and every time without fail my pleos will then stand up straight in a packing type position, move their front foot a little forward and then back and then close their eyes and honk.  after they honk they go very still so you have plenty of time to turn off the switch and they stay in packing position.
