New Pleo owners FAQ Version 1.0

My PleoRB has just started lifting it's feet up, but it's not moving forwards. If he runs out of this battery cycle before moving (i.e. goes back into packing position) does it mean that it pretends nothing happened today? Also, because it's started to move it's feet, does it mean it's already in it's juvenile stage? Or is it still a newborn? Do we have to wait until the PleoRB starts walking before it's a juvenile? I've wanted to play tug-o-war with it for ages. :(

winkwink09:
Oh, and it just goes to sleep if I leave it too long. :( So it's still not walking yet.

Crewella:
Whoa there - it took Belle four full battery cycles before she took her first steps.  Your RB is still very much a baby!!  :D

Cuddling you RB on you lap or your shoulder for about 20 minutes does help shorten the newborn stage by a little, but my best advice is to just enjoy each stage for what it is.  They grow up soon enough!  ;)

As long as you switch off with the button or allow them to run down to the end of the battery and switch off themselves, they will save all data from that session and count towards the total time.

winkwink09:
Oh alright then. I tend to worry too much, just like a mother would of her child.  :P I'm only in my teens, so technically this is quite intriguing.  %)

A few minutes ago, it started moving a bit more, barking, and accepting the tug of war stone. It still doesn't accept the identification card yet, but this will come. I just finished the 3rd full battery cycle, so yeah. Is it still a newborn even though there are these improvements?

It also keeps reaching out and trying to grab ahold of the floor in front, but it always pulls back at the last second. In fact, the back legs drag along the floor a bit when they move, so the PleoRB ends up moving backwards instead of forwards.

Will try again tomorrow. Hopefully that will help.

I also need to reset the clock at noon tomorrow. I haven't had time to, as of yet (geddit? :D). But if I do that, will it reset the Pleo back to it's first cycle functionality? It would be unfortunate... all that effort gone to waste.  ^-^

Crewella:
No, you can reset the clock as often as you want - it makes no difference to the development.  It sounds as though your RB is going through the 'social development' phase now, where they try out their legs and lots of new sounds - you should be getting lots of burping sessions sometime soon if yours is anything like mine were! :P
