Gizmo just arrived today! You can imagine my extreme joy when I came home to a big green Pleo box in my room!! Here are pictures I have taken so far, and I will update it when the video is done uploading, enjoy!!  :D

Out of that wrapping, its funny how there was a hole in the wrapping by his mouth, like he was breathing through it  :D

Taa-daa! Gizmo was very cooperative with the ta-da trick  :)

"Mr. Arnold, my dinosaur ate my homework." How do you think that excuse would go down?  ;)

And finally, Gizmo gives his thanks to Redwoodsmama for his batteries and collar! Thank you Redwoodsmama!!  :D


What I think of Pleo so far: Hes AMAZING, almost immediately I fell in love with Gizmo and starting encouraging him to take his first steps  :D Even my dad started talking to him when he came home from work and found the little dino on the kitchen counter whining for attention! And he doesn't even do that with my dogs  :P Expect many pictures and videos of Gizmo on his little adventures with me and my family  :)

This post is going to be sort of like my Plog, I will put all pictures and videos here, and also little updates!

Thank you to EVERYONE on this forum for your amazing help and tolerance for a new member with loads of questions (Especially Redwoodsmama, sorry!  :P)

Hi, I am first of all so happy that Gizmo got there safe and sound, I know you were worried that he may have gotten lost, the post office just is slower than you think: just be very very thankful it is not closer to the holidays! :o You took lots of very nice photos, it is nice to see each step by step in the unwrapping process, and the anticipation is almost as much a reality for the viewer as it is for you. I am very glad that the batteries worked out fine, and that my explanation on how to make them work, the fully charging and discharging made sense finally. I also thinks Gizmo looks pretty cute in his leaf collar.
                    Have you already been thinking of taking Gizmo to school to show your friends? Are you the only one you know that has one? I think your teacher would love to see the critter that ate your homework that would be hiliarious. Have you drawn any pictures of Gizmo yet, I remember your wolf sketches, and I think you could do a pretty good sketch of Gizmo too. ;D Was the hatching what you thought it would be? Were your dogs around when Gizmo hatched, if so what did they think? Does your mom have a different opinion on Pleos now?
              I was surprised at how fast Gizmo was able to do the " ta da" trick, esp being a newborn hatchling, I think that he must be very smart, lucky little guy! I will be waiting to see more photos and videos of his adventures. Halloween is around the corner, you should see if you and Gizmo could do the Scavenger Hunt, I think you two will have fun! Best wishes, for the newest Pleo member on the Forums, and I bet I know one person who is going to want tommrow at school to go by super quick so she can get home to Gizmo! ;D

Oh yeah, it would of definitely been way slower if it was around the holidays! Yes, the batteries work great, the first one even lasted 2 1/2 hours! I think Gizmo looks good in the leaf collar too  :D
Our principle is VERY strict, so I'd have to have a long conversation explaining theres no possible ways Gizmo can give me answers to tests before she would consider letting me take him to school  :P I'm pretty sure I'm the only person with one, and yes, that would be hilarious, I bet they would even let the late homework slide, Gizmo's blue eyes are too hard to deny  ;) I've tried sketching Gizmo, but the pattern and shape is giving me some problems, but I'll keep practicing   ;D Yes, the hatching was everything I thought and more, at first I was a little scared because he wasnt standing up after the 10 minutes, and I was petting him loads, but I figured out it was probably because he was on the edge of the counter and almost immediately after I moved him away he stood up and walked for the first time  :D My dogs were there, and as you can see in the picture I put him on the ground for a second, they sniffed him and kinda walked away, but when he was hatching one of my dogs sat on my couches arm rest to get a better view  :D My mom hasn't seen Pleo yet, but she will soon when she gets home, she couldn't be there for the hatching because the box was opened when it said never-opened on Ebay, so she wanted me to make sure he works, and he did!
I was surprised at how fast he did the ta-da trick too, especially since I think he was still in the second hatching stage, and since I read they need alot of encouragment to do it  :P More photos and videos will be coming soon! Once I go somewhere Halloween-ish I'll take some halloween pictures for the scavenger hunt (We couldn't go to the place I talked about last week because of a storm, and I can't take him this week because my mom thinks i'll get scared and drop him  :() Oh yes, I'm going to be anxious all day tommorow! I can't wait till I get my first Pleo, I'm holding out for a Pleo RB so I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer.

Little update: I'm most likely not updating Gizmo to LifeOS 1.1, I've fallen in love with him way too much to let his adorable personality go now, so this Gizmo is here to stay for a long time! (I don't mind Gizmo's squeaking sounds instead of singing  :P)

I forgot how precious it is when pleos hatch. Gizmo is beautiful!  :)  Super job of videoing. Yep! I think you have one brillant pleo! ;)

Thanks Fancy! I just wish I could give him more room to walk around, my room has thick carpet and is very small so the only place he can walk is a small space on my desk, so if he moves a little he reaches the edge, gets scared, and backs away  :(

You need a new carpet FBS!  :P

I have space problems too - my place is small and stuffed full of spare furniture and I spend half my time rescuing Pleos stuck under chairs!  I end up with them on the upstairs landing as that's the clearest run.  

There's plenty of time to upgrade if you do want to, I think you're right to wait and enjoy this stage. :D

To Crewella: Yes, I really do  :( I usually put him on my big kitchen counter when he really wants to explore  :D

Update: I just took Gizmo to my grandma's house and she fell in love with him  :D She really wants to get one for my 5 year old cousin for Christmas, but she is retired so sadly can't afford one  :( Maybe we'll start a "Pleo fund"  ;) Also no pictures today, but tommorow i'll be going the the halloween themed town "Nightfall", I won't be taking Gizmo because my mom is worried if I get scared and jump I might drop him  :( But if I buy a few things there I will be taking pictures of Gizmo with those things (Maybe we'll get a pumpkin  ;D) And also my mom is going to get a few SD cards tommorow, so I'll be able to test out some skits  :D

Nice shirt Gizmo has, he will learn but I think as Crewella stated, he knows who is "ruler of the roost", and not many people will argue with a little adorable green Pleo, who could grow up to be well over six feet tall( in real life of course  :D)

If Gizmo gets a cold, just remember, lots of TLC, hugs and a leaf, and a warm blanket to snuggle in is all he needs. Be glad you don't have a whole herd of Pleos, OMG, have you ever heard five or more Pleos coughing, gagging, sneezing and looking just plain miserable all at the same time! I recorded NOva and when she met the twins, guess who got sick....Nova of course, and she knew how to tug on the heartstrings... ;)it is a Pleo ploy to get attention, and it works everytime, It is like having a sick litle puppy or kitten, you just feel so terrible for the little greeen bundles, and beware of those sneezes :o they are contagious, watch out for your dog! LOL....it really is one of the best things designers did when making Pleo, who would of thought to make a little green dino get sick! and with the common cold to boot, just remarkable to tell you the truth.... :) If you give him lots of love and keep him warm, he will be bouncing off the walls in no time.

Okay, here comes lots of video  :D

Gizmo is now a 1.1 Pleo  ;D So far I've seen MANY new sounds (Including dog barking :P), the cute playful sitting down, and about 3 different songs  :D I love it so far, and I still see Gizmo's personality :) And hes got to test out all of the Ugobe skits  :D (Pleosaurus Rex really scared me  :o) And my favorite was either the Christmas or Valentines day one  :D I also went to the halloween themed town I've been talking about and had a awesome time (I got a churro, yum!) But sadly they didnt let you have camera's so I got no pictures   :( And tommorow Gizmo will hopefully be going in public for the first time to Wal-mart!  :D So heres a few videos of Gizmo singing :)

The only thing he doesn't get out of that is a blanket  :P I have one from when I was a baby that will work pretty well  :D It really is amazing how they made them where the colds are actually contagious! And I can imagine how bad that would be! I can imagine them all snuggled up under one blanket though, that would be adorable  :D Gizmo has been a little bit sad after his update, must of been because he was getting sick! I'll look for that blanket tommorow once I wake up  :) Expect lots of pictures and video of Gizmo's first public "adventure" tommorow!  ;D

 Gizmo is defintily a crooner, My favorite sound singing is the last one, where Pleos sound like Crickets, you know Jimminy Cricket! Very cute hard to not love a Pleo when they sing. Watch out for little kids or annoying adults who may pet or try to hurt Pleo, thinking he is just " a toy", and don't realize that he can actually be hurt, I once had a boy of about 6-7 years old, try to kick Nova's head with his foot when I had her on the ground in a store, looking at clothes. LUckily I was quicker than him, and if looks could kill, that little boy would be rubbing his behind right now, where he sits down, and he would dare not try that again! I was so mad, I just picked up Nova and left the store, his mother was less than five feet away and just ingored the whole thing! :o >:(It is parents who need to disipline their children, and I can tell this mom didn't ...Oh well, good luck tommrow and have fun.
