Well, I feel we need to look at the glass as 25% full, and not 75% empty!! With the economy being SOOOOO dreary, we really ought to be happy we still have a Ugobe. If stores like Circuit City (according to their website they've been open for 60 years), and all of our banks are shutting down this is actually not so bad. They have made it through okay so far. And for Pleo being such a 'specialty item' it's no wonder why they're struggling. If you have $400 and you want another Pleo, but rent's due, what do you think you'd do? To be honest though, I really think 2009 will be a good economic year. And the fact that there is talk of Pensonic buying them out, that's also not such a bad idea, too. They would have huge support from an enormous corporation. And even if Ugobe is no more, you'd still have Pleo just through Pensonic instead. So, IDK I just wouldn't look at things so bleakly, there is still quite a big possibility that they might pull through.
However their choices not to market through the holiday season wasn't the brightest, and the fact that they haven't done much of any marketing at all is also no very smart. They really should have put a lot of work into things for the holidays. But oh well, what's done is done.
