New Parent in South Africa
« on: September 01, 2010, 12:37:18 AM »

Greetings Everyone.

I am a very proud new adopted parent of a gorgeous, previous well loved and I am sure is going to be a sadly missed little Pleo that I purchase from a fellow user on this site.

I purchase it for my seven year old daughter who is animal mad but due to circumstances we cannot own a live pet, so I thought this is the best I can do for her. Anyway when I was a child I always wanted a Aibo and could never get one. My daughter shares my love for technology but in a really girly way which is really cute. She already owns a Lego mindstorms kit which we do have great fun with, but a little advanced for her.

The Pleo seems to be right up her street though. She has named him Leo the Pleo, I know not to original but she is only seven. We are going over the weekend to Build a bear to see if we can find anything that could be adapted to fit him.

Anyway looking forward to meeting everyone on this forum, and getting acquainted to our new member of the family.

Most definitely, welcome to our family of pleo parents. It sounds like your daughter will love her little dino. Please make sure your family looks at the photos in the Gallery. Lot, and lots to see! :) :) :)

Well Two days in and after a few hiccups with getting the battery's charged Leo the Pleo is up and running. I now have a seven year old that resembles this  ;D. It is truly awesome to see her so excited. Even my mother who was a skeptic has now fallen in love with the adorable little thing.

Today he is going to school for show and tell, it should be a riot as none of her friends believe her that she has a pet dinosaur. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

Welcome, sounds like your daughter and Leo are going to be a hit, and there are sure to be some great stories when your daughter comes home from school, I am sure there are also going to be a lot of parents hearing all about Pleo the pet dinosaur from their kids, and wondering what is this Pleo? Sounds like fun for everyone!

Shame on me for not seeing this sooner. I am too pleased to see your loved one has taken on to Leo the Pleo, so well. Yes they really are a lovely breed of 'animal', now aren't they. At any rate, I only look forward to getting to know you guys a little better.
