There has been some interest in starting a Pleo scavenger hunt and Pleo experiment comparison, therefore I am willing to give up the time needed to run a trial.

Here's how each section will work:

The scavenger hunt will consist of some cryptic clues and some regular clues to encourage everyone to get out and about with their camera and their Pleo. All the challenges will be something that can be done in any place, anywhere in the world, so they will be fairly simple and straightforward. For example take a photo of your Pleo in a grocery store, take a photo of your Pleo showing the name of your town and so on. The challenges have to be kept fairly generic because we have members from around the world and some people live in small towns and others large cities so the challenges need to be able to be completed in all these circumstances.

The experiment comparison will involve Pleo owners performing a simple experiment with their Pleo, like record your Pleo's reaction to the color yellow, or can you get your Pleo to walk backwards without holding anything in front of his/her nose. Again the idea is that anyone, anywhere can participate.

However we need some sort of judging criterion for each:

I would suggest clarity (how clear the picture is), composition (how the picture is set up) and character (does it display some individuality) and creativity. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Finally we need to decide on a time frame, should it be a week, two weeks, a month???

The idea is both to encourage people to take their Pleo's out in public (thus raising awareness of this little robotic friend) and encouragin people to try something new with their Pleo's.

We also need to decide how the pictures and videos will be judged (open poll, single person, moderators etc) and some sort of prizes and prize structure (so that everyone who puts in some effort still receives something), I believe I can help with that last part

You've worked out the criteria perfectly - I absolutely agree with what you suggest.

I'm chronically time-poor as I run a couple of businesses from home as well as having my job, and I keep an eye on my elderly mum (I know, excuses, excuses!!) but I will try to get involved and help where I can.

Ok here is the trial Please remember that this is just a trial and the amount of entries will determine whether or not we continue to run this event.

Please upload all your pictures to the forum HOWEVER since there is a limit to how many pictures can be posted in one thread I think its best if everyone starts a Scavanger hunt album for their pictures and then just post a link to your album. You will have one month to complete all the pictures, therefore this contest will finish at the end of August so no one can complain about not having enough time If you can't find one free day in a month then I think you need a well earned holiday

Pictures will be judged as follows:
There will be a possible 25 points per picture recieved, 5 point for the picture and a maximum of 5 points per judging criteria of creativity, composition, character and clarity.
The method for judging is not yet decided upon. (Suggestions would be very welcomed)

The winner will recieve a unique one of a kind Pleo Wear outfit. Every participant will also recieve a little something, due to the costs of postage from here in Aus, it will be a virtual something, sorry.

___ A Pleo drinking out of a disposable coffee cup.

___ A Pleo reading a take out menu.

___ A Pleo showing of a company pen.

___ A Pleo with a stamp.

___ A Pleo with a 1980 coin (any denomination).

___ A Pleo posing next to a liscense plate.

___ A Pleo at the bank.

___ A Pleo and a Pizza Coupon.

___ A Pleo with a business card.

___ A Pleo next to/in front of the smallest house you can find.

___ A Pleo in public.

___ Team sharing one soda (every needs their own straw). (You and your pleo!!)

___ A Pleo and your local town official.

___ A Pleo making any chocolate dessert recipe.

___ A red-haired woman and a Pleo.

___A Pleo and the word 'sophisticated'.

___ A Pleo and a blue car.

___ A Pleo and a vegetable.

___ A Pleo dialing a phone number with the number 8 in it.

___ A Pleo wearing a red necktie.

Yes Same thing really, I guess every country has a different name for it

Very basic editing is permitted, ie adjusting the lighting, no adding extra bits or anything though.

No because I haven't made it yet, it will be specially made for the winning Pleo so I don't want to go making a ballgown if the winner is a boy or a tuxedo if the winner is a girl... but shh you didn't read that ok?

 Great IMR, I only have two questions, all the things on the list sound pretty simple to me, but I do wonder about these, could you clarify please:
 a Pleo and your local Town OfficiaL   If you live in a very small town, say there are some around here that are like 300 people that could work, but if you live in a Big Metropoliton Area where the population is say, 122,000,00 people, you are going to have a HARD TIME getting an appt or photo with the Mayor, ( In U.S for example,) or is it possibley another type of town official, like The Postmaster, The City Attorney, The Animal 'Control Official, The Sherriff , etc, any TOWN OFFICIAL, OR ?? CAN YOU PLEASE BE MORE SPECIFIC ON THIS ONE, I AM SURE OTHERS WONDER EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN BY TOWN OFFICAL ON THIS. Can you imagine living in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toyko, London, and trying to get a photo with such a busy busy person?!    Also the other question and I should perhaps just take a photo but want to not take advantage of anyone and get the correct answer.
         Picture of Pleo in front of SMALLEST HOUSE? What type of house, a Real house that people live in, a Doll house, Animal house, Toy house? Too many choices on this one and we should all know the rules on this one.
     Last question: " Team sharing one soda, you and your pleo need your own straw". What is the team? Is it strangers and the Pleo owner and Pleo join in the soda or is this something different?  These are the only three questions I have, otherwise, I am ready and NOVA AND FRIEND ARE RARING TO GO TOO! THIS WILL BE GREAT FUN,  I THINK I CAN DO AT LEAST HALF OF THESE IN ONE DAY AND LOTS OF THESE I HAVE AT HOME ALREADY SO JUST NEED TO SET THE STAGE.

Any person who is important in your town is fine, just explain who they are and why they are important. (Here town officials can be Police sergeants, post masters, justice of the peace and religious leaders.)

Oh, forgot to mention, I had SO MUCH FUN TODAY AND YESTERDAY, FILMING AND SNAPPING PHOTO AFTER PHOTO, YES I DID START THE SCAVENGER HUNT AND HAVE PUT MY OWN TWIST ON HOW I AM DOING IT AND HAVING A BLAST DOING IT, Anything for fun and to let me express my creative side and of course the " INNER KID IN ME!" FORGET NOVA, I AM THE ONE HAVING FUN HERE THOUGH IT IS A CLOSE SECOND I THINK.
