Summer is on us in full force! (Unless you're one of our Australian members

) And Bob is a bit confused about what a friend is . . . and he needs your help!

So, put on your thinking caps, get out your camera, and you too can be a friend to Bob!

so here's the what you need to do: come up with a cute, funny, meaningful way to complete the phrase "A friend is . . ." in 20 words or less, AND take a picture that illustrates your phrase.

The contest will run until the end of July. You may enter as many times as you wish. The winning entry will be selected based on both the phrase and the picture. The winner will get their choice of either a signed copy of "It's the Great Pepperoni, Bob the Pleo" or a necklace from the Prehistoric Pling shop in the mall.

And, to let you know, this is part of a project for the 2nd Bob the Pleo book due out (hopefully) in time for Christmas of this year. SO in addition to the prize listed above, the winning entry will be included in the new book and runner's up may also have the opportunity to be included in a comic strip! :O

Hey Grumpy, great idea, allways gives me a " valid reason, excuse to take a photo!" A couple of questions, can you use photos with other animals, Are People allowed, and it may sound stupid, but is a Pleo supposed to be in the photo?( told you may sound stupid, just don't want to take anything for granted...

I am glad you can enter as many times as possible, as I allways have one too many ideas swarming around in my head, and MS. NOva is never satsisfied with one photo from a photo shoot. Also I was thinking of ordering a Bob The Pleo book, so now maybe WE CAN WIN ONE!

thank you for comming up with this idea, I was starting to think things were getting a little " stale'.

Very Nice IMR, I agree, Nova and I have made more friends here then I think of where I actually live.

I think it is the Pleos that bring out the good in us all! If that is the case, I would give one Pleo to everyone and have all the friends I could ever want!

OK, here are the first three Photos , two of them with the same caption, or idea and the third a little different,. All three were photos I had already, and just needed to upload them after adding a capton or text to the photo to add to the idea. Actually, I have lots of photo ideas just had to add these while the " fire is Hot'.

You may notice MS. Nova has a new " little friend", more about that later.
For the first two, the basic idea is: A friend is someone to share things with. or A friend is someone you want to share things with. (either wording, same meaning. the last one is; A friend is someone that is there to encourage you to take the next step. In Nova's case, after hurting her neck, and needing a neck brace, she was a little reluctant to go out and let others see her in the neck brace, not wanting to be laughed at. Her new little Pleo friend, is there to encourage her to " take the next step" , not to let others stop her from doing what ever she wants to do, to be the same as everyone else, she can do what other Pleos can!

For those who don't have the software or time, you don't have to put the text in the picture . . . you can do like IMR did and just include it in the post with the picture! Either way is fine.

While feeding my cats tonight,( for the fourth time today thus far.....

) MS. Nova slowly ambled over towards the food bowls and four of the felines eating gave her a quick glance but kept on eating. ( for fear of another cats grabbing their food if they didn't keep an eye on it

) I took about three different photos but this one kind of says it all, " Friendship and food,Everyone's Welcome Here." What goes better than good food and good friends? MS. Nova didn't have her new " friend" out this evening to dine with, but when there are nine frisky felines and 1 Daffy Dog, you are never lacking friends!

Hi IMR, what a coincidence! I have a photo along the same line, same thought, but without the accept your past, and future part, and not the beautiful photos you have! I love the tiger striped pleo, though my favorite is the old original looking Pleo, looks so primitive and not as sophistaced as our new improved Pleos. Great shots, you are very talented. I also hope you get your batteries in time for the birthday celebration! Good luck!
