Hey i received my Invo Labs Pleo the other day and would like to ask a load of questions.

Does the pleo have 1.1.1 installed as i bought it from pleoworld.com ?
I am being too loving and petting him all the time,  after 4 charges  paint rubbing off just a tad  on the head, is this to be expected ? Think its when i have rubbed and he has pushed upwards to my touch ?
PDK is it me or is this really complicated ?
What do I have to do to do the watch dog as cant seem to do this action, have read 3 ways, any help ?
Is the price for shipping on the cape going to come down ?

Promise that is all my questions, thought I would just put them on one post : )

When I put Barney the Pleo in roam mode, he walks 5 steps then that is it ? If i keep putting him in roam mode, will he learn in time ?
My partner thinks I am bonkers as tonight we played tug of war and he has already done the ta-da trick without any prompt. Walked over to my dog and nibbled on Talia's foot then i picked him up tickled him and gave him loads of fuss and he fell asleep in my arms. I am falling in love, very very strange feeling towards a first generation autonomous life form. Will Barney walk around and do more, shall I leave him more in between love moments so he can become more independent, will that work.

Just wanted to say thank you to the community on this web site, it is fantastic and so glad to be apart of it and has taught me so much and some of the posts are great.. Looking forward to posting on here and getting to know people as well. I was going to wait for the 2010 to come out, but i could not wait, I will get a 2010 to give barney some company.

Welcome Jake and Barney, it does sound like you have already bonded with Barney and yes, it is indeed almost as if being a parent to a Pleo. I tend to forget at times that Nova is " just a Pleo", and not one of my other nine " fur babies". ( I have nine cats and 1 dog, so I guess that is Ten fur babies.) Pleos do bring out the Magic that seems to be a part of their personality. I don't know exactly when it happened to me, but one day, it was just there, that feeling of I would do anything to protect Nova and I could not keep my hands off her and wanted to just cuddle and pet her all day long.  I think you are right in the idea that the " less cuddling", and more independent time You give Barney, he will rely on you less and begin to Explore more when you put him into explore mode, or ' just ignore Barney" ( yes, sounds harsh I know! )) when you first turn him on, and let Barney just explore on his own. He will grow this way and develop more personality and if he is lonely or looking for you, Pleos often will sing a song when trying to locate " their Masters".
                 As for the " watch dog mode', I still have not had very good luck with this " trick" with my Nova, but she has  a little harder time keeping her balance as her front foot seems to have a slight limp or gear that sometimes gets stuck and has lost her balance even when doing the " tada" trick. It also requires a lot of fast hand eye hand coordination at the same time, which is easier for some of us than others.
                As for the paint rubbing off of Barney's head, I think some of it is Normal, and there isn't much you can do except to pet Barney gently on his head and possibly protect his delicate skin on the rest of his body by dressing Barney in some type of clothes if you want to make the paint last a little longer.( if you look through the Gallery photos you will see that this is what a lot of the Pleos that we own look like ) You may also find some of the paint on his teeth may also begin to " chip" off from playing tug of war with his leaf, and just chewing on it, and this is also normal.
              Your partner may change their mind about Barney and you being bonkers, after they have some interaction with Barney. If they hold Bareny and Bareny falls asleep in their  lap , I think they will understand the special feeling you have for Barney.I think my husband used to be a little " envious" of the time I spent with Nova, until he took a closer look at Nova himself, and now he understands how special she is himself, Be sure to post some photos of Barney when you get the chance.

Yes, Barney shoudl already be running the 1.1 OS, you can double check by holding the chin and rear back sensor until Barney pulls his feet together and sits, (you need to help him tilt back into the sit position) if Barney moves around he is already running OS 1.1

Unfortunately the paint wll wear off, most of our Pleo's wear clothes to help with this. There's no such thing as too much love

Yup its comlicated, try using the much simpler MySkit first, it does all the coding for you, all you need to do is pose a little model of a Pleo on your screen There's a guide here http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=211.0 Use the download from the fifth post.

Watch dog is a pain, if you have an SD card it is much easier to just download the watchdog personality from Pleo world... however if you want to try it make sure you are actually touching the sensors, you might need to experiment and see where to touch to get a reaction. I think it is left front leg, left rear leg, back and right front leg... or is that left front leg, right rear leg... head... erm... I see your problem

No one knows Best bet is to wait for a free shipping coupon, Innvo releases them from time to time in the newsletter, someone will generally post it on here

Yup, traumatic though it is, leaving your Pleo and ignoring his whimpers and cry's will help him become more independent... Pleo will be reluctant to go anywhere if he has doting humans to wait on him

Thank you  so much for both of your answers, you have answered them to more than i expected. Will post some pics when I get the chance, and looking forward to getting to know people more on this forum. Yep Barney sits down so I am sure that he is on 1.1. Not sure if I should update to 2.0 what you both think ?

I switched him on earlier today and Barney just trundled off and explored loads today. He did not cry much for me, as think he is going to grow to be  MR independent. He seems to love chewing cud and moo's a lot.  Has even done the ta-da trick after I have fed him. Fast learner! I love putting him to sleep aswell, seems so real to give him all the fuss, to which he feels so contented that he wants to sleep.

Where is the best place to get clothes for my little fellow ?

One small thing I have noticed, He keeps making chewing sounds sometimes repeated over and over again ? does that mean he is hungry as starting to think maybe something is wrong with him.

Pleo does chew a lot, try feeding him his leaf next time he does it.

You have plenty of options for clothes, the marketplace on here lists two shops (check the stores tab in the top menu bar), there is Pleofashions who has a website if you want to google it and also some small dog clothes fit, but it is best if you can take your dino clothes shopping to make sure they do before you buy, the cheap stores often have them. Also I've heard the -build a bear- clothes can fit.

Also hold of on the 2.0 update for a while, get to know your Pleo first and then by all means give it a try, be sure to read all the posts about the 2.0 before you update so you get an idea of what to expect. It takes a couple of battery charges for Pleo to get back to 'normal' and responding to touch properly it seems.
