I love anything with a beat! I'm a techno junky, pop, rock, hip-hop, Johnny Cash (LOVE JOHNNY!!), 70's, 90's, I loathe 80's music, raggaeton and other hispanic music (even though IDK what they are saying!) Basically if I can dance to it, than I'll like it okay! 8-D

Haha, we're pretty different. Light rock with the occasional regular rock, mixed with classical, opera (The Magic Flute is my fave), sacred, and children's chorus. ;)

Let’s see, for singers, (remember I’m old and creaky,) I like Linda Ronstadt, Jim Morrison, Annie Lennox, Janis Joplin, Van Morrison, Grace Slick, Bob Dylan, Deborah Harry & Sid Vicious singing “My Way.“  But mostly I like bands or instrumental music.  Some of that is The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Doors, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Beatles, Cream, Queen, Weather Report, Miles Davis, Chuck Mangione, Baden Powell, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Peter, Paul & Mary, Pentangle, Simon & Garfunkel, John Cage, Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Sheherazade," Moussorgsky’s "Night on Bald Mountain", Stravinsky’s "Rite of Spring," Orff’s "Carmina Burana," and all Blue Grass to name a few.

49er, remember I'm older and creekyer ;) There's so many singers I like but at the top of the list for me has to be Andy Williams, Barry Manilow, Barbara Streisand, John Denver and Karen Carpenter. My favorite group singers are Beatles, Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Mamas and Papas, Peter Paul and Mary, Top three favorite Musicals, Sound of Music, South Pacific, King and I.

I guess I should respect my "elders," (barely, :D)  For musicals; Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Woods," "Show Boat," "South Pacific," and of course "Little Shop of Horrors."  But you haven't lived until you've experienced Sid Vicious crooning "My Way." ;D

allosaurus, I listened to cuts of MercyMe and that's one of the reasons I like Blue Grass.  You can find a lot of spiritual songs in there.

Yep, done by Queen.  Great harmonies!  There was a somewhat cheesy SiFi movie in 1980 called Flash Gordon that Queen did the sound track for.  They were probably the better part of a reason to watch the movie.  But, it was nowhere as good as Bohemian Rhapsody.  I don't know if you would be interested, but in 1969, The Who came out with a rock opera called "Tommy."  It had a story line that was also on the tragic side like most operas, (no fat ladies though ;).)  But no great harmonies.  As far as hansom dudes are concerned, Freddie Mercury would not have been available for you. :( ???

Hehe, I know and love all those singers 49er, and fancy listed. That was right up my ally. So, 49er, are you new to Bluegrass? My Grandparents (who live in the middle-of-nowhere West Virginia) are real big into Bluegrass and the like. I was raised on a lot of that bluegrass/country, and classic rock.

I didn't keep track of the date of when I became aware of Blue Grass, but figgurin' conservatively, it must have been at least thirty years.:) :) ;D      (Though for some reason I've not been much of a fan of Country/Western.  Might have been being growed up around Cowboy hats and boots and I was just a hick.;))
