Pleo RB torso always twisted
« on: December 19, 2021, 09:40:20 AM »

Hi everyone!

Been a long time since ive been on this forum!

Just found my old Pleo RB in the shed outside! Not been used in probably about 6 years!

Managed to get the battery charged etc, just need to find the food and ID card which im sure is somewhere!

However im having an issue which i know was there previously before being put in storage. The Pleo's torso seems to always want to vear to one side, if you move it back it will just move back to the left and stay there, no matter what. It will then not move even if you run a skit for example, so i know its not a software issue.

Have any of you had this issue before or know a possible cause/solution?

Thanks!!

Hi  luk3du,

It is usually caused by one of two things:

1. The wiring from the torso servo feedback potentiometer has a broken wire.
2. After a disassembly for repairs, the potentiometer for the torso feedback was oriented incorrectly. (the raised dot on the potentiometer faces the "0" marking on the scale when installed correctly, 180º inverted will cause this malfunction you describe).

Cheers!
