Ugobe Pleo shipped with 2.0

 Hi the new Ugoge Pleo I received from China new in box tab in place on  off on switch seems to be running  O/S 2.0 as he has leaf recognition many more sounds and walks in straight line. With that being the case am I correct to say that the personality on SD card such as Halloween  and love struck do that work with this operating system   He is a Chinese pleo what was the ugobe Chinese  web site.

Hi, yes the love struck and other downloads from the Pleo Website will run with no problems on the 2.0 Operating system . I have upgraded several of my pleos to this operating system and there is no problem. Good luck and have fun.

As RWM says, OS2 runs the skits and personalities OK.  The Pleo RB will run some skits too.

He is not recognizing the SD card formatted correctly with different skits  but came from china with White china sticker on sealed ugobe box as I stated above. Because it was made for the china market would that regional difference make a difference in it reading the skits like love struck. When you pat under chin he howls instead of singing. confussed

If he howls, then he is not running the latest, which is OS2, he's running the earliest version (OS1.0/1.0.2), which makes sense as you need OS1.1 or OS2 to run the skits.  Update him to 1.1 and he should be fine.

Personally, I like OS2 a lot, but I have to concede the first few battery cycles are a bit of a pain.  I'd run 1.1 for a while and then upgrade, so you get to know one before the other.

What are the differences ?  What I mean to say what do you feel was improved by upgrading, and what do you miss.

The only thing I've really missed has been after upgrading from 1.0 to 1.1 ..... you lose the howling and the giggle when you tickle their feet (I run at least one Pleo on each OS).  Upgrading from 1.1 to OS2 I personally have not so much noticed losses, more that Pleo has more puppyish noises - some people have said they preferred the original 'vocabulary' before the additions.  For me, personally, the OS2 additonal tricks and better tracking and movement make the OS2 upgrade worthwhile, but you do have to put up with up to six (it was eight before I felt Iggy was Iggy again) battery cycles of an unresponsive Pleo that makes inappropriate noises and goes backwards a lot.  They say it's a hatching ....... it feels more like Pleo's having a breakdown ........ round here we tend to call it the 'terrible teens'!
