Innvo recommend Pledge for cleaning the Pleo RB skin, but I prefer Vinylex for rubber and plastics as it also gives some UV protection. A damp cloth wipe-over will get the worst off, but not condition the skin.

You're welcome!
Just to be clear, if you'd been a new RB owner I'd have said Pledge, as you wouldn't want to risk voiding the warraty on a new RB by not doing what Innvo recommend. With a Ugobe, it's different.

usually i use a damp cloth and it works great for my glen (2008, ugobe), the skin is not brand new, but without holes, the paint is clear

for the ugobies i think it's important to not dry the skin and not to exposed directly to heat and sunlight

I have looked high and low for Pledge but none of my local supermarkets have it.
The shop assistants just give me the o________o 'whut' face. xD
What I did find was a product called 'Mr Sheen multi surface polish', would that be okay to use on my RB? I don't want to void any warranties, but I would like to keep her skin nice and clean. I made her a coat, but it's the middle of summer here and it's just too hot for coats!
(and she just had her first outdoors photo shoot, and I think she had a bit too much fun tromping about in the garden!)
So, what do other Aussie Pleo owners use, and is Mr Sheen an okay substitute for Pledge?

No, definitely not! Using any other product will void your warranty and may do irreparable damage to your Pleo. I don't even use pledge on mine, the bottle I have is still full
I prefer just a gentle wipe over with a baby wipe, the natural ones with no added chemicals or simply a wipe with an ever so slightly damp cloth. Even then I do so sparingly, not even once a month. My oldest Pleo has holes under her armpits but the rest of her skin is just fine without any extra care. And she is almost three years old now.
Kat uses a rubber care product but I can never for the life of me remember the name
I'm sure she'll let you know when she drops in next. Again though you cannot use that on your Pleo while under warranty as it will void it.

Phew! Thank you IMR!
In my other hobby (BJDs) you have to be very careful what you do and don't use on your dolls; so I'm always happier to ask and know, than make a terrible mistake!
I'll just use a lightly damp cloth to wipe her down every so often ^^

This is a Pleo skin care thread, but as IMR says don't use them while your RB is under warranty. The car care products do also protect from UV light, which rots rubber and plastics.

Apparently, looking around the internet, seems those who own Harley Davidson MC's have found the best pledge to use is the lemon pledge. Seems to give the best results.
Here is one review of Lemon Pledge, and sure if it did not work well then these guys would not use it:

Possibly, but Hogs are made of metal ......... I'd have thought a specifically made rubber/vinyl care product might be better for Pleos ........ but I've already admitted I'm biased!

I would like to clean my pleo rb. I read in the manual that the Innvo Labs recommends cleaning with a damp cloth and use the product Pledge. In Italy there is a similar product and it is called Pronto is a polisher to clean the furniture

I think this the product recommended by innvo labs

We cannot get that Pledge over here, in New Zealand, but found out the big fans of Harley Davidson Motorcycles found the Lemon Pledge worked the best on rubber, plastic, etc and general polishing their bikes, cleans leather and vinyl very well, and they did a test and review showing the lemon version did the best job.
used the lemon one on my old Pleo and cleaned up the skin very well indeed.

denodan thank you for your answer, but I found that the product is used to clean the wood and not the rubber ....... maybe wrong product. My Pleo rb is still under warranty and I would not miss product......Denver2

Denver, if you can not get the Pledge reccoemended by Innvo labs for your Pleo Rb, you are better off, at least while your pleo is under warranty, to use nothng other than a damp, not wet clean cloth, This way you are protected. After the warranty period expires,You can try something else, but that warranty period is vital if something were to go wrong. Good luck.

I agree with RWM, While your Pleo is under warranty, I would only use anything a damp soft cloth. Other products might work, but if you use anything other than the Pledge, Innvo Labs may not honor your warranty.
You might also try look into the suggestions in this topic:
