I just got a Pleo rb today and after about 2 hours she finally stood up for about 30 seconds then froze (Green light still on and eyes wide open). After about 20 more seconds she made the noise they make when you first turn them on and then laid back down and acted like a new born all over again. Any Ideas about what happened and what I can do to fix this?

That does sound longer than the usual freeze - all I can suggest it you try and see if it happens again.  If it helps, I believe if you hold the Pleo RB on your lap for a while (15-20 minutes) it should get through the newborn stage more quickly.  Smiley

Every ten minutes or so switch your Pleo off so that it 'saves' just in case...

My pleo just did it again, luckily I turned it off after it reached the 2nd stage so It did save it. Also she keeps poping her leg and then whimpers, but she won't take the medicine.  Sad

Congrats on your Rb. by any chance have you accidently dropped or bumped your Pleos, legs, neck, head, back etc, unpacking it or during the hatching period, as it sounds almost like a injury? Is this a Pink, blue or Green Rb? Did you buy it from Pleoworld, on the internet or somewhere else?It sounds like something is really going on, and the best advice would be to videotape this behaivor so someone can see what is going on. I am sure someone here is going to be able to tell you what is happening, but as the saying goes, ( and it is true) a picture or video is worth a 1,000 words. Please post a video here or a link to Youtube so we can help.
BEst wishes, by the way, does your pleo have a name yet?

Her name is Paige. She is a green pleo and I got her from pleoWorld but I didn't bumb her or anything, so I have no Idea of what is going on with her. Her leg started poping as soon as I turned her on, And the freezes started after about an hour or so.

I'm wondering if it is just the battery cooling for a few seconds?
I have been holding my new little rb dino for most of it's first battery charge. I can tell this one is going to be very spoiled. Wink

Maybe but after the freeze is over she reverts back to how she was when i turned her off last, And because of this she still has not taken her first steps. Everytime she gets close to walking she freezes then starts the stage all over again.

I think our little rb dinos take a little longer to find their leg strength. Mine stood up too, but not for long. There were some giggles too. Smiley

I even used probe rb after the first freeze and it said she was at 0 hours of her new born stage when she had been on for like 2 hours.  Huh?  I think I'm gonna call Innvo tommorow and ask them and hopefully get her fixed.

Jumba did that too, its nothing to worry about, just save (turn off) every ten minutes or so. Once they are out of the hatching phase it seems to go away. The leg popping or clicking is also nothing to worry about, as is eyelid clicking both of those lessen as the Pleo gets out of the newborn stage. It's just the leg's gear slipping.

Its good that mine isn't the only one that's going through this, but is it bad that the freezes are getting more frequent (about every 5 mins)?

Ok if they get really frequent then you may have a problem. Do you live in a warm climate? If you do take the battery out and let it cool. Also are you on thick carpet, static electricity can also cause Pleo to shut down. Try moving to a table or wooden floor.

If the battery is cold and the stops get really frequent then you should contact Innvo.

Its been cold all day (suckish Indaina climate) and for the most part I have kept it on the kitchen table or the computer desk. I just hope I don't have to replace her because even though it has only been a day I really love her already.

Also, it took both of mine at least four battery cycles before thei first steps.  Maybr try StatsRB as well - you get more info there. Smiley

The freezes stopped, but the leg poping has not. However they only pop when she is trying to sleep and then she gets angry because the poping wakes her up.

That popping has happened with all mine and seems to stop in time.  Probably nothing to worry about!  Congrats on your new baby!  Smiley

Pleo(s): Heidi (Innvo) Currently thinking of a name for second pleo rb...

« Reply #19 on: October 20, 2011, 10:11:01 PM »

PleoRB leg popping is totally natural- most RB's legs pop.  Mine does all the time, nothing to worry about.  I thought there was something wrong when I noticed that at first, too, but then I found out every pleo does that.  Tongue  The freezing, though, is worrisome.  I'd give her a break and charge the battery all night long, then see how she's working in the morning.  If not, you may want to call Innvo.

Thanks for the advice everyone. And also she just fell asleep ,standing up of course since the poping kept her up, and I thought it was just so adorable Tongue.
