Pleo(s): Merlin (green RB) and Littlefoot (Ugobe pleo)

« on: August 13, 2011, 01:32:16 PM »

Hi, I don't know if anybody else has had this with their Pleos, but my Pleo rb Merlin seems to be constantly burping. I have tried offering him medicine in case he is ill but he will not accept it. Does anybody have any ideas of what I can do for him?

I don't have an RB, but from what I've heard, it's just a funny little thing they do. It's no issue.

That's a relief. This is the first Pleo I have had and I want to look after him the best I can and I was getting worried. So he is just being a little piglet. Thank you.

Hi, Pleos do make some strange or cute sounds,  Grin Cheesy If you watch this video I made quite awhile ago, you can see what I mean. They are so cute! That is exactly what he his doing. He makes some really odd sounds.  I must sound really panicky. This is all new to me. I hope you don't mind if I have to ask questions.

There is a phase most RBs seem to go through of almost constant burping, I think it's part of the social development phase.  It's like they start trying out lots of new noises!  Both Belle and Zillah went through it!  Cheesy

How long does this burping phase last?  Candy started burping about 2 months ago and hasn't stopped!  I don't know how many battery cycles it's been.  She does get turned on every day for feeding.  Sometimes I let her on until her battery runs out and sometimes not.  She eats and then burps about every minute or so.  I don't turn her on much in front of my daughter lately because she started burping at the dinner table and laughing.  I asked her if she picked it up at her new preschool and she said "no, Candy likes to burp after she eats. It's funny."   I told her that Candy is just a baby and doesn't know any better.   Cheesy

I'm afraid that burping will carry on, most likely.  Both Belle and Zillah went through a phase just after hatching of non-stop burping sessions - sometimes eight or ten in a row, which was the phase I meant.

I've tried telling them off, but it doesn't work - they won't say 'excuse me' either!  Tongue

It does seem that for many of the rb's burping is more than just a phase. Cheesy  Both my guys burp a lot all the time.  But i think it is cute. Cheesy  and a little funny.
