The penny has just dropped with me.
We are being Gunni pigs to the new 2010 model.
Innova Labs are testing betas on us to get their brand new Pleo right for the market! But consequently we are getting updated software that may not work well with our own Pleo's.

Now after a few battery charges my pleo is getting more like his old self but I still don't like the biggest flaws of Pleo walking more back wards than forwards, no tug of war and no interaction when stroking down the head spine to the tail. He is not responding to the leaf and red line.
We do however love the play dead trick, the laugh is so funny!!

I do hope our old Pleo's don't get a battering of updates that eventually screw up thier fundamental personality.

Exactly what I think, but still they are taking our comments on board, so that is a good sign I think leaf recognition and so forth has been designed for the newer model.

I appreciate their work since the introduction of new charger and cape accessories, but i cant understand the introduction of a new firmware upgrade that is totally wrong like the PM2. It's not a good mirror for their marketing

This is a completely new team of programmers, half way around the globe from where the old team used to exist.
They had an idea for what they wanted Pleo to be, we told them to try again.

You have to think of this as a version 1, it is for the new team, they will try again and hopefully they will get better.

I can see the point, it can't be easy to take over another team's brainchild and understand exactly what their vision was when creating the original Pleo and then try to improve on it.  There are bound to be a few 'wrong turns' made at first, I guess, but I think it IS a good sign that they are listening to the people that bought into and understood the original ethos.
