Li-Pol Battery terminals & Pinout
« on: June 10, 2010, 05:08:30 AM »

Hey there Pleowners!

I recently bought a pleo from ebay for a pretty good price, but he came without a battery pack.  I want to build a DIY lithium battery pack using the lipol batteries i already have at home, but i need some measurements etc from the official lipol pack.

If someone could take me a high res photo of the bottom of the lithium pack, and take a multimeter to the contacts to work out if theres any other circuitry in there (current limiting, thermistor etc) that'd be awesome!

Thanks,
Bob

This thread should answer some of your questions:

Only thing in there other than the cells is a thermistor.

Thanks.  I've read through that thread, just wanted to know if the lithium pack is different from the NiMH one described in there.  Lithium cells are normally 3.7v, and if they drop below ~3.3v will permanently die.  Because of this i need to know if the lithium packs have any electronics in them to stop that, or if pleo takes care of the low-voltage shutoff.

I guess for now, i can just take a cheap battery, hook it up, and see what happens :)
