Does anyone have a copy of the PLEO.PM? I would like to extract some sounds from it, but don't really want to have to downgrade either of my Pleo's to get it. I know I can get the sounds using dinomite but it is a little more time consuming :P
-
Pardan my asking but, what was/is PLEO.PM? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
-
Pleo.pm is basically Pleo's mind, it is where all the sounds and actions are stored... along with other stuff that is probably best not to mess with :o I just want to extract the sounds to use :)
-
Oh, then you want a Pleo brain surgeon. ;) :D so its the brain of a Pleo? how do you get that out of a Pleo and onto a computer? ???(without killing the Pleo)
-
Pleo is basically a four legged simple computer. Oh, and with a tail too.
I've been able to back up the pleo personality files, and reset it back to the birthing stage a few times to show friends how Pleo matures.
I'll charge up the battery tonight and see if I can copy PLEO.PM to a SD card. If I can, I'll post instructions on how to do it since sharing
that file might infringe on a few copyrights.

I'm sorry IMR. It's been awhile since I've hacked around pleo and I seem to have lost my static.urf file.
I can't find the pleo.pm file you're looking for. This is all I can see now.
---rw-x 1158 SYS_STATS.SSF
---rw-x 59 R_flag.txt
---rw-x 6704 pm_props
---rw-x 1 result.txt
---rw-x 33124 plogfile.dat
5 file(s) with total size 41046
I'm sure there are people out here that know more about pleo's file system than I do.
Looking over this I seem to be missing the pm_drives file too!
At least I can find my back up files.

off topic, but it has to be asked. Is this how they "reincarnated" Pleos? :o and if so, can it be done by us not just the now dead company of Ugobe? :o This could potentially save hundreds of Pleos lives! ;D and would it be the same Pleo as before the reinserting? (I mean if you take him out of one body and in to another one is the one you put in the new body the same Pleo as before you extracted him?)

Thank you all,
@ Eric, that hack doesn't seem to work with the 1.1 OS, at least I haven't been able to get it to work :P But then I am not super technical :P
@ CleosDad, the Pleo.pm is actually an .urf file, (for the later OS's at least, I am not familiar with the first OS.), But don't go to too much trouble, I'd hate for something to happen to your Pleo on my account :o I have already been able to extract sounds from all the personality downloads to use so I only need a few sounds (about 30) from the default personality, as I said I can get them using dinomite, its just a little more time consuming :P Thank you for taking a look though :)
@ Pleo Power, reincarnation would require extracting all files stored on Pleo (not just the .urf) but the basis is correct, they would download the files from Pleo and upload them into a new Pleo, so yup technically if someone could come up with a way to download everything we could have our own reincarnations :) If the script for Pleo is ever released then we will no doubt see some pretty neat tweaks and changes made to the default personality by users as well :)

And to think, then I might be witnessing Pleo history right here!!!
-
Hey IMR! Guess what I found while looking through my pleo folders last night.
A bunch of .usf files that look like the entire pleo vocalizations. They might be from the original OS, but hopefully the 30 or so that you're looking for are in there. I'm assuming you use MySkit too. They might have come from that program. I'm not sure. If you like, I can zip them up for you. Let me know.
-
That would be brilliant! Thank you so very much, the original OS is just fine, it saves me an awful lot of work so I am certainly not going to complain ;D
MySkit and Yapt are both handy for this sort of thing :)
-
Ok...Here you go.
Sorry it took so long.
Let me know if you have any problems.

Wonderful, I installed them all into my MySkit library ;D These will be so useful!
