Title: Problem with running Pleo

What are these 2 pins in the battery slot? Is nothing broken there?

Why do I need a third contact on the battery?

The third contact is for a thermistor voltage to be read, so that the Pleo knows to shut down if the battery (or its internals) get too hot

If I connect an assembly of 6 AA batteries, the Pleo starts, runs for no more than one minute and stops, you can see in this video.

Does this mean it's because of this contact? Need to apply "Startup script to disable battery temp sensor"?

You should try using the script.  There may also be an issue that the voltage is too high.  Most NiMH batteries like the ones used in the pleo battery pack are 1.2v, or 7.2v total for the six.  Normal AA Alkaline batteries are 1.5v, or 9.0v total for the six.  If you are using standard AA batteries, the higher voltage may be causing problems.

Only NiMH
