Title: Broken neck
Post by: camcam8910 on December 20, 2015, 02:29:56 PM
I know this is my second post, but I really want to fix her!

I just turned my first pleo on (Pickles) and her personality just made me want to cuddle her forever, but as I said in my other post, her neck is broken.  We tried to fix it but my dad said it was too difficult.  When we cut her skin a few years back, we cut it wrong, so I was wondering how we can fix her neck cable, as well as get her skin back together! http://imgur.com/a/TNRwr pics of her neck

Also, it is her side neck cable, if you can see, which I have heard is much harder

Love the custom paint job on her! Have you checked the detailed neck repair guide here (http://bobthepleo.com/forums/index.php?topic=2925.msg63060#msg63060)? I would suggest talking with a couple members who have completed this repair before and reading through the guide thoroughly. I'm not sure about the skin, but maybe if you can find a thin stretchy material to superglue under both sides of the skin that might hold for a while.

I've been reading through all posts about pleo repair for the next two hours and I plan on tackling it eventually (hopefully).  I'm very excited because her cheery squeal when she wanders the kitchen haha.  I'm kind of nervous since I've never really done anything close to this and it seems that side cables are very difficult, but hey... yolo!

Alright, good luck on the repair! If it doesn't go well or you decide to hold off on it for a bit longer, some members here use neck wraps/braces to keep the Pleo's head in place without actually having it physically repaired. It's not a long term solution, but can make Pleo's with neck cable problems easier to run.

How many people have had their pleo RB neck cables break ? 😟

Most neck cable breakage still seems to be in Ugobe pleos.  I had one of my RB who had a broken neck vertebrae but the cable was ok.

My Pepper has a broken neck. I have a sweat band for your wrist around his neck to support it.

What a great idea HuggieZ to use a sweatband as a neckbrace  ;D

Yes Pepper is an RB :)
The sweatbands are from my work :) They don't use them any more so I can take them as I want :D
