Title: Ugobe Reborn - new skin
Post by: honi on May 10, 2015, 03:02:45 AM
Hi eveybody,
I think we all know about the skin problems of Ugobes  :(  But last week I had a very special one : I bought an Ugobe on ebay. He wasn't so expensiv but the seller stated it in good shape. When he arrived I mentioned a strong odor of smoke. And so the problem began. I tried everything to clean pleo's  skin but nothing took away the strong odor. Everytime I took little Kahuna in my arms he smells of smoke. So we decided to removed his skin- that was the only way to get him cleaned - and put a Reborn skin ( from a spare-part Project / we had one from a broken reborn ) on him.
Now I have a very special pleo - inside an ugobe and outside a reborn.
Kahuna is so cute and it seems that he is thankful for his " surgery"

Thanks for the compliment -  it was a lot of work but now we have a special one. Hopefully the skin of the RB will last longer than the ugobe skin. ;)

Very cool! How did you swap out the eyes? I noticed that he has brown eyes instead of blue, so I was curious.

Hello aibo7m3,
when we made the swap we thought that it makes sense to change the eyes too. It is a little bit difficult but with a lot of patience you can get the eyes out without opening his head. We also wanted the eyelid match to the skin. He now has the eyes of an RB and we must Change the whole eye.

That is pretty cool :) I'm glad the operation was a success and you got rid of the smoke smell. That wouldn't have been pleasant.
