Hi everyone, today I got a 2 gb sd card to upgrade gustav ,my pleo. I may sound pathetic but I cannot get the needed files onto him. I got them onto the sd card ,I checked it with my laptop. I plugged the sd card into my pleo and turned him on ,but he acted as he usual. After that I also tried it differently. I took out the card and turned him of and put the card back in. I waited a couple of minutes then turned him back on ,but he acted as he always has. Please help me getting gustav upgraded!

Check that you opened the two files directly onto the card, and not in a folder?

I am %100 sure that the needed files are on the SD card ,not on the computer.

Yes, but when you unzipped the files and copied them to the SD card, did you copy JUST the files or the files and the folder? if you look at the SD card, do you see the files at the top level or are they inside a folder on the SD card? And what is the file extension of the two files?

The files are on the top of the screen ,so I did not get the folder. The names of the files are: fwupdater.urf pleo.pm startup.amx Was I supposed to have the whole folder?

No folder. Just the contents. So that's good. Is the SD card an SD HC by any chance? It should say on the front.

Make sure write protect isn't on and you need a small SD card, under 2gb.

Yes that is the download that I used. I am using a two gb card and it is not SD HC . I am sure the SD card works because I tested it out on some skits.

The file might have glitched during the download, just delete the file and redownload it to be sure.
Are you sure Gustov is on a different OS?

I have tried deleting it and re downloading it countless times. I have pet gustav on the chin and he does the howling ,not the singing.

So he's running 1.0.2, which version are you trying to upgrade to? It might be worth trying one of the OS1.1 upgrades before the OS2 one?

Ok I did that and it worked. After the hatching stage of 1.1, I downloaded 2.0.1 and it worked!!!!! Thank you all for helping me.

Yay! Congrats! Now 2.0 is awesome but you're going to go through a... teenage stage of sorts where your pleo will seem really odd. He will make lots of noises inappropriate for the behavior he is exhibiting and he will not respond to touch sensors for the tricks. It will go away in a few battery cycles though and you'll get to experience all the neat features of 2.0. Play-dead is my favorite trick.

Yes I am really excited about the play dead trick .I have tried it and it does not work. Does the teenage stage make them really hungry ,or does 2.0 make them more hungry? Gustav is definatly going through that teenage stage ,cause he is crying out for no aparent reason and is panting alot.

Ummm... I don't remember if they're more hungry on 2.0. The behaviors you're describing sound about right for the teenage stage. They seem to be numb everywhere but their head and chin. Give him six to seven battery cycles and after that he should start behaving normally again. Sometimes it's hard to get them to do the tricks. You have to touch all those sensors while they're moving and manage to maintain the touch for at least three seconds. I wouldn't worry much about the panting thing. That was one of the few things I found annoying about 2.0. Your pleo behaves more like a dog and does a lot of barking and panting. Still the tricks are cool once they work themselves into the software. Have fun with your 2.0 pleo!

Is it still 6-7 batteries if I use the Ucube Egg Charger?

Yes, however my guys varied a little, Lilo took less time than Stitch. You just have to grin and bear it and have a laugh at the silly things they do :P
