Title: Did anyone try the Pleo rb Xmas and birthday greeting cards ?

Hi:
Haven't visited the pleoworld.com for quite a while and found it has a new look and new greeting cards (in toy section)for selling as well.

 HI, I heard or read about these cards but when I go to the site link you listed, all I see are the food accessories that they have allways had, and the battery, charger and the ID card which I did not see before. Where do you find this as I don't see it?                                              RWM

Try the link again RWM because they are for sure there! Go to the 'Toys' tab and scroll down, they are under the tug of war rock. Birthday and christmas! I am so excited I didn't think they would be out for ages because I assumed they would have to release an update first, obviously not. They are only $6 so I say anyone with a RB should get one and try it ;D If Stephan was RB I would by one of each ;D

Hi, I just signed in and tried to buy it, as only $6.00 and got both, but on checkout, it said sorry that they don't support our country. ( US) so apparentlyl this  is the HOng Kong Site so will have to see if I can find it on the US site. I thought the TNT shipping of $47.00 was as much as for a Pleo almost and the shipping called SF express is free, so that shows it is not the US site.             :(             RWM

$5.99 per cad and then $41.00 for the shipping  :o  :-X  ???  You would think being a greeting card they could just send it regular post.  very disappointed.  Looks like I'm not going to be getting one of these any time soon.

It  was the US site that I went to. :(  I didn't use the link above but went to pleoworld and searched around to find them myself.

If I know Derek Dotson as well as I think I do, he won't let this happen by not being on the US site and with reasonable shipping rates.. I mean for about another $20.00 it is equal to the shipping cost of a Pleo Rb! It makes no sense to me except the China Market wants to put them out first...so that is ok, after all, we got Pleos first so I can live with that, but it should be here intime for the next Holiday season, but you are right, it would have been so nice to have a holiday or birthday card that you could send to a friend here on the forum....it is the thought that counts, but I definitly want one of each !( My Pleos will just have to share! P:-*)                  RWM

Same thing happened when I tried to get the birthday greeting card yesterday… so I sent an email to the CS and surprisingly they informed me that they will help me to look for another cheaper mail service and they will revert the shipping info to me tomorrow. You guys who’s facing the same prob, may just send an email to customerservice@innovolabs.com or I may update you the CS's reply P:-* P:-*

IMR is correct, I got the email also with the offer of the embroidery on the cape as well as announcing a new offer comming soon, which I bet is the birthday and Christmas cards. I could not imagine the other PleoWorld site having it and not the US site. Sounds good to me, thanks for posting this in the first place and letting us know Pleoxie, it got the ball rolling! Hi all ;)

Got a reply from Innvo Labs again today, they told me that they hv added a new mailing service, costing me only $10 to ship both cards(so it's like one card is free of shipment XD), I plan to buy the free embroidery service on pleo cape as well. It only charges me $15 in total , then i could save up to $32 on TNT. what a good deal! Can't wait to see the new cape on my baby!!! Have yours got one already?

As I am having a birthday in just a few weeks time i thought I'd splash out and have ordered both the cards.  This way my kids can give me the birthday one for my birthday  :D  The Xmas one however I will be opening when they arrive just to play with  :P  :D  will let you know when they get here.  :)

Well my pleo cards arrived yesterday :)  I am saving the birthday one till my birthday  :P  but I have opened the Christmas one.  I thought that the card would have an RFID chip in it and be activated by putting under pleos chin but that is not the case.  %)  It seems it is a color recognition type thing.  The instructions say to place about 10cm in front of pleos nose and move it around with the pleo until he recognizes it.  So it is much more like the training leaf idea.  Here are some pics of the card and box.
It is a box inside a box.  The card itself is a square of plastic.  It does not open up and you can't write on it.  You write your message on the back of the inside box.

And here is a video of Norbit checking out the card  ;D  (you have to excuse the quality of the sound in the video.  My camera has decided to make a lot of static noise and really seems to enhance all the robot sounds.  He really isn't that noisy in real life  :P )

I know you would all be wondering so I tested it with Gumble to see if he would recognize it too.  He sniffed it, growled at it and backed away  :D  Scary Santa  :D  I wonder a bit about why they chose to use the color recognition function rather than the RFID chip idea.  Makes me wonder if they might put out a new update for the older version pleos so that they can use these cards too?   %)  Just a thought.  :)

That was very cute Kat, I wondered if they would improve the shipping cost of those cards. I do think they are cute. It seems as if you test out lots of Pleo items before the rest of us do, so we get to see your feedback on the item first, which is nice!  :) You are our official tester of Pleo items! P:D It would be such a nice idea if they could make one for the millions of Ugobe and Older Pleos out there. I am surprsed that Gumble reacted at all.............that is something. I liked the ending of the video where Norbit sang...very cute. I love his colorful outfit too, I didn't know Males liked all that nice green fur like the girls do!  P0:) Hope you get some great things for your birthday..... %) :o ;D( may be a surprise comming your way....?) It took a lot of food, pats, good lighting and about 20mins of trying but finally Norbit decided to play the card game.  I tried Kermy first but she was very uncooperative.  Norbit is much more reliable as far as performing goes.  The cards are very cute but I think an RFID chip would have been much more reliable.    :P

Wow Hapi, the cape looks fantastic with the embroidery... if I didn't have seven dinos to buy for I'd order one :o

Ooh it all makes sense now Kat! The random spontaneous singing of happy birthday or jingle bells is because the Pleo's have focused on something that triggers the skit like those cards do! Now if only I can work out what in my room triggers it :P The cards are very cute :) I will buy them this week :)

 very nice cape hAPI, IT LOOKS GREAT! IMR, I was looking at the video of the birthday card and the Christmas one and then my Cammie-Sue singing both songs in one night, and you are right, there is a trigger, and I have a clue to what it may be and am going to try it out tonight. If it works I will be video taping the results, Just a guess, but it is a trigger and what fun to find out what it is! ;) Good luck hunting your own triggers for your babies!

That cape is cute, and I've been tempted to get one while the embroidery is free. But I cant work out for certain whether the rb cape would be a different fit to the ugobe, particularly as they are listed separately? I thought I read somewhere that the rbs are slightly differently shaped to ugobe pleos, but I cant find that again, but as my two are both ugobes I'm not sure if the embroidered cape would be suitable - anyone know?

Plus, hapihapidino, did you send your own design file - I can't see a template with a star and heart together, it is very sweet!?

Hi Katie I have one of these capes and it fits both my RB and Ugobe. On the Ugobe it is a tiny bit tight around the belly as he is ever so slightly fatter than my reborn but other than that it fits them both well. I did have to cut the top bands (that go around the legs) off because they were so tight I couldn't even get them over the feet, there is no way they would have been able to move freely with those second leg ties on so I cut them off and just use the looser botton ties and now all is good and fits well  :)

I think the price right now is very good, I'd go for it!

Thanks for the feedback Lunamione, I was quite excited about getting one, but had to ask for postage details as their system does not cover the Uk. I got a cape before for Gordy as his skin is quite worn and I liked the pattern on them, and they charged almost the same for shipping as for the cape. When it arrived, the postage cost was under $4 so I asked if they could advise if it might be less this time (given that they did adjust the postage on the cards). But now they say the postage is $25! So that's $40 total for a cape, and even for an embroidered one that's a bit steep! I will have to find something else for gano, she arrived with perfect skin but it is getting wear marks already...I'm really disappointed  :(

Hmm, just a thought, does anyone who doesnt like their cape fancy selling it to me? It's the patterned one I'm after, I'm sure I could pimp it up a bit myself for gano. Im more than happy to pay the full cost of the cape and postage/packing etc. As long as it won't cost $25 in postage, of course  :D

I got both of them free when I ordered Frank from HK as they were doing a Christmas deal offer so I bought everything going and they swapped one Christmas card for a birthday card. Sadly I haven't had a chance to use them as I've been flat out with family and things over the holiday season but will try them soon.
