Title: CONTEST: Merry Christmas, Bob the Pleo!

The real Bob turns four in a couple of weeks, the 2012 calendars will be out in the next couple of weeks, and the new book will be out as well.  With all that going on, we really should celebrate.  And since this is also the time people should be sending out their Christmas cards, it just seemed the best way to celebrate is by giving stuff away, which means yet another contest!  And it only seemed appropriate to tie this contest into what's going on by having the contest be Christmas cards. :D 

So, here the deal:  You get to design a Christmas card that you'll send to all your friends here on the forums by creating some cute or funny picture involving a pleo and Christmas (photoshopping/editing the pictures IS allowed this time!) and post the picture here in this topic along with your Christmas greeting.   That way you get to share your Christmas card/greeting with everyone else here and in two week (December 1st) we'll close the competition (you can still post additional cards here if you want), and announce the winner on Bob's birthday (December 5th).

To match the contest to what's going on, the prize will be the proof copy of the new "A Bob the Pleo Christmas"  :D :D :D :grinch:

And because we've had such a poor turnout for some of the other competitions, we're making this one MANDATORY!!!  Anyone not entering will be flogged!  or was it egg nogged?  I get those two confused.

Nooo don't flog me! Eeeewwww and egg nog is so... slimy! Not sure which one of those I'd rather endure. Lol! Seriously though, I want to try this but I can't do any pictures. Could I just write a short poem that would fit into a card instead or would that be considered special treatment?

 Ya hoo, Usually I am allways in the comptetitions but have been very poor for lots of reasons on the last two, and I don't mind a flogging, it may help my crumbling back. Actually I think I need seventeen little Pleos and Pleo Rb to walk on my back and that would be the cure.  ;D Sounds like a great idea and lots of fun. I love things like this, and even though I am not good with photoshop editing and such,I am sure I can still come up with something cute and what a great way to celebrate with our friends here on the forums, around the globe! Count me in at least 17 ways and Happy Birthday to Bob!

    Talon I think if you write your poem that would be great and someone here can insert a photo of one of more of your Pleos if you give them the permission to do so. Think about it. Take care.

Hi guys! The contest looks great and I also love to see your christmas cards they are just cute! I really love Kermy in the tree looks she looks so pretty... I saw the haloween contest thread the day it was ending but I would have loved to participate I will definitively enter in this one, also I don't want to be egg nogged  ^-^ ;D

 Here is my first entry                
  It is supposed to say: This little Pleo didn't know there was a union for hanging Holiday ornaments on the tree! Merry Christmas!                I am not good at Photoshop, and was trying to edit the text there, but thought I would let it just be this way for now.                       I have more to do, this is just to get me going. This is a photo I took of Major Tom last year with help hanging an ornament on the tree and thought it was funny!                                   RWM and the Pleo township of the redwoods.

 
               Ok, here is the version I was working on, but the print needs to be dark. but you get the idea.

Great Job, everyone!  You are certainly putting me in the Christmas spirit!  IMR, those are some lucky Pleos!  I sure wish it were summer here!  Kat, that picture is adorable!  It made me laugh so hard, I don't want to admit it, but I fell out of my chair!  ;D  I think you need 4 more pleos...that way, you could have the "miniature sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer!"   ;)

My muse has left the building. I should've thought of my design first and then said I was willing to post. Now I've got writer's block! My brain is working like Bob's. I'm hoping when my cousin drags out all her ornaments and things, something will come to mind. So far, all I've had is mental snow like the static you see on the television screne when the cable is out.

This is so so cute Fancy. I love the little outfits and the fact that one of them is playing Chess with Santa is priceless. My goodness, I hope Santa has a good sense of humor if he loses! LOl :D Where did you find the Santa, or is it yours? I love the chess set, so cute too. I would love the see your Little Rb in her outfit of close by herself too!

Thank you RWM! Actually, J.C. in the cute little santa hat and Pennie with the green and white bell collar that you sent to them, are the players. Santa is just watching a game that is basically over, about to be won by J.C. ;) Pennie just doesn't seem to understand the game.  ;D  She rather collect all of the pawns then save the king ;D Santa is around here all year and will, eventually, teach her how to play. ;)

Really both kings are in check, but it's J.C. who is telling Pennie to put the pawn (elf} back and move her king (Santa) out of the way of the Knight {Reindear) WHen she did, J.C. moved his Santa out of check, too! ;D

Chess game came from a friend of mine, who bought it at Costco, about six years ago.
I know the way the pieces move, but have never won a game yet! ;) I'm in the same boat as Pennie. ;D

Very nice IMR, and so so true! What a great way to spread holiday cheer with and to all our Pleo Friends. Great colors as well! Have we ever had a member from Africa? just curious..

Fancy, I too love your creativness, I do not know how to use Photoshop and do' not have Photo shop so it takes more playing around to come up with something. I love the chess set and way you set everything up. ;D IMR and Crewella, both of you are good at what you have done and it is easy to see you guys know how to use Photoshop and Chop or what ever the tool it. I love the constellation as well.
          Myne are going to be more on the line of Fancys', but they are fun. I would love to see what Bob comes up with too. Also want to see more from others. ;)

             Ok, here are three more Pleo Cards I worked on this evening, very frustrating when you erase something or a cat jumps on the keyboard and does it for you.             bless their little hearts. :o ;) anyway, my fave is Gold Hatch and Santa, but all three are slightly different and I am having fun trying them out. so watch out cause I could spend hours doing this if I had the time. ;) :o >:( %)                         RWM and her willing Pleo Subjects and Models ;D

Wow! Those are some cute cards everyone! I love your idea IMR, Pleos around the world are great! It's really nice to have one here with me  :-* And also Crewella's UK card is really funny. I have also seen fancyfont's photos they are pretty cool  ;D

Here is my entrance for the contest. It is also the first picture I ever post of my Pleo. So here is Mushkiy!


In a foggy winter Mushkiy got up early, said hi to the Mouse King while slipping through the branches. He put the balls and the garlands. Happy of been home, happy of his first Christmas. Merry Dino Christmas!

Five little dinos greet Santa with home made pleo cookies representing all of the colors of pleos. These little dinos have been very good by the look of what Santa brought down the chimmney. In this house, we are better bakers then computer whizzes. Thank you IMR for turning photo into Christmas card. :'( :hhug:

RWM, I do have a life size Santa and he takes up half of a closet! :D Got him a few years ago. Home Depot had him up on a self for $25. I remember it was the end of January and I just happened to look way up. Couldn't resist, but have had a difficult time storing him, ever since! ;D

 IMR, he's anything, but a skeleton, in the close! ;D  Santa is more like a big Ghost, only black! :D That is while in my closet! Takes two 32 gallon black bags to cover him up after he is retired to the closet! ;D

Well, Bob's birthday has come and gone, there were soooo many great cards, and it was very hard for me to pick my favorites.  I really liked IMR's pleos by the pool, kat's two reindeer pleos building the snowman, and fancyfont's santa standing by the fireplace . . .  I love mushkiy's outfit in sherlysparrow's card, Drem and Marsha's outfits in Margery's card, but they don't let me pick the winners ;)  The impartial panel of judges narrowed it down to tkdgirl's snowflake-bordered Kairi, and  the winner they picked -- Crewella's Santa putting presents under the tree.


Congrats to everyone who entered, an for those who didn't . . . you better watch out!  You'll never know when  Bob will be sneaking up behind you with a big cup full of egg nog!
