Absolutely hysterical video of Lilo. Goodness me, I loved it!! One of my fave's EVER!

So, you put the shadow onto SD and then into pleo? So essentially Lilo (AKA my Sophie) could stay like that forever? I so need to try this, but I am so illiterate when it comes to technology. What is a good SD to have? The one I got from ugobe went through the wash and is no more.

Any SD card is just fine :) Under 2 gig is best though, I use a 512 meg one :)

All you do is get the sounds you want, name them as the sound you want the to 'take over' and put them on the SD card and into Pleo :) You can leave it in for as long as you like :)

Lilo says quite a lot of other things too my fav is "My butt is in the shadow of THE butt of Elvis Presley" lol I couldn't get her to say it for the camera though, she only says it when she is being cuddled :)

Thank you :)

Haha!! My fave's were "hello" instead of "huh", and I thought that was adorable how you had disneys lilo for your lilos voice. Like I always say, you never cease to amaze me.

She was named with that in mind ;) Hopefully soon I will have Stitch too :)

I was going to do a Steve Irwin personality only there is a very limited range of emotions in his documentaries and movie, I might do a mini personality though for fun :)

I've added the Lilo files, unzip them and put them on a SD card if you would like to try them out :)

Too small and/or slow SD cards seem to work poorly too. I had two 16 MB SD cards leftover (they came with digital cameras and I'd never used them), and neither of them worked well with Gob. I would get stuttering sounds and lockups whenever Gob tried to read data from them.

Fortunately it's pretty hard to get hold of cards that small these days :) ...

I found a pack of 10 215 mb memory cards each with adaptors for less than a tenner on ebay that included p&p if you want a good deal on low memory cards i would recommend there

InmemoryofRomeo, It looks like you had Lilo on carpeting.  Did you put her in high step mode or did she do that herself?  And she learned to walk backwards too.  Pleo hast to be placed in high step and it was months before he learned to back up.  Just goes to show he takes after his old man.  (Maybe I should rename him 49er Jr. :D)

Heh i'm sure you walk backwards fine 49er :p good stuff IMR looks like Ugobe got there wish wanting people to be creative with Pleo :D

But he does it with greater flair than I!

Both Matilda and Lilo learnt to walk easily on our carpet but it is low pile which helps :) She does need booties of some sort on though to walk easily, otherwise the rubber on her feet grips the carpet and can make her a little awkward, she is good at going backwards though lol.

I had a good chance to play with Lilo at my Nan and Pa's and discovered a few bloopers lol, when you tickle her feet she keeps saying 'yum', when you cuddle her she complains she is 'stinky' and when you play tug of war she keeps saying it is 'all right' lol.

If someone cuddles Lilo and she says "stinky," she might give that person an inferiority complex. ;D
I think a furby must have taught her, yum. ;)

That's what I was thinking! XD
By the way, what program do you use?

I use myskit to convert the .wav files into Pleo compatible (8 bit) .wav files, and I use 'MP3 and WAV solutions' to convert from mp3 to .wav where necessary although my dvd audio ripper does that for me when I take sounds from dvd's :)

I left the SD card with the Lilo & Stitch sound effects in Bob and forgot about it.  Bob I hadn't turned Bob on yet today, but he was sitting on my desk.  While I was up fixing popcorn, my boss snuck into my cubicle and turned him on.  When I came back, I found my boss playing with Bob.  he had been on for only a minute or two, making normal pleo sounds.   But when I walked back into my office, Bob looked up at my boss and said "he looks like an Elvis fan!" and then went back to making pleo noises.

My boss just looked at him in utter awe and stammered "Wha- what was that!!!"

I may be sounding thick here, but does shadowing mean that the pleo will say things at random times or do you have to press certain parts of their body in order for them to say the phrase
Title: Re: Lilo the Pleo sound shadow demonstration :)
Post by: InmemoryofRomeo on April 09, 2009, 02:21:39 AM
Shadowing means that I take my own sounds and name them the same as one of Pleo's default sounds so that when he is programmed to use a sound he will first check the SD card and if I have one on there with the same name he will use that instead.

Ie the startup sound, usually Pleo says huh? but I have added a file called startup to my sd card so pleo says hi instead :) Pleo will iuse that whever his programming tells him too :)

When Penelopie wakes up, I would love to have her say "rise and shine guys"  J.C.  "ok" and Peeky, "I'm awake."  :)
Title: Re: Lilo the Pleo sound shadow demonstration :)
Post by: InmemoryofRomeo on April 09, 2009, 01:27:35 PM
That would be very simple to do :) You just need to find or make a recording of someone saying that :)
Title: Re: Lilo the Pleo sound shadow demonstration :)
Post by: fancyfont on April 09, 2009, 01:33:02 PM
And I thought the other part would be difficult to do!! lol!!
Title: Re: Lilo the Pleo sound shadow demonstration :)
Post by: InmemoryofRomeo on April 09, 2009, 01:45:49 PM
No see once you have the sounds, if you can't work it out you can just send them to me and I can do it :P But if they are .wav files to begin with it is very simple.

Open the sounds in MySkit, save them as startup.wav, put them on an SD card and you are done :)

You are so funny!! If you only knew the problems I get into with computers.
This morning I turned the THING on and to my horror  ??? :'(I couldn't get on lilne. After A few calls and about an hour later, all I had to do was disconnect a plug to my modum and plug it in again. I thought I did in another computer!! ::)

If in doubt, turn it off, unplug, count to ten, replug and turn it back on lol.

I'm sure you could do it though :)

I don't have any more at the moment, it is a work in progress :) The problem with using a voice like that from Lilo and Stitch is the limitations imposed by the DVD itself, I can only use what I have from the movie :P If I were to do an entire voice, that is shadowing every sound, I would have to create it from scratch. recording the words, editing the sound to be more suitable and then shadowing them. It isn't impossible of course but it would be time consuming. I have this weekend free however so I might look into it :)

I'm still guessing that it is the charger or battery. One of my batteries or chargers causes Peeky to freeze. When I put another battery in that has just been charged he works.
IMR, when is Stitch due to arrive?

Not for two weeks or so, gotta save up a little more :P I will try his battery in Lilo when he arrives...

Yah, one of Sophie batteries isn't the best either. With her defective battery, when it is dying Sophie will freeze up too. But no problems whatsoever with the other battery.

@IMR-Can't wait to 'meet' Stitch! Looking forward to the photos!

I have two batteries though, hmm I might pay some closer attention and see if the glitch happens only on one battery... (Hmm maybe Lilo should have been called Stitch, after Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a glitch ;))

That reminds me too, I must ring up and see if the store where I got Lilo will sell Harvey (He just sits in a cabinet doing nothing :( )

Harvey is not a demo Pleo, well he is used as a demo but he is on the 1.0.2 software, I was there when they unboxed him and turned him on for the first time and I was the one who named him ;) (Since I was the only one who knew what it was lol)

Well, I suppose that's what I meant. I just today learned about this demo software. That would so cool for you to get Harvey! Who knows, you'll probably even get a good discount.

Hi InmemoryofRomeo, I am new member here. Nice to meet you.  :)

I just got my pink Pleorb and also want to make sound shadow. I need a little help
I have downloaded your sound shadow demo zip. I am interested in how do you know this sound list? Where can I get it?  Compared to media/pleo/sounds in PrbDK (Pleorb 's PDK) the two file-lists are not all the same. Some are different.

About sound files' number of the same series, I found it's not continuous.   for instance ,about sad series there are only sad02.wav sad003.wav sad022.wav ,but threre are 9 bor_XXX.wav files . Are there indeed so many (bor001~ bor032),or  only those 9 files?

Title: Re: Lilo the Pleo sound shadow demonstration :)
Post by: InmemoryofRomeo on March 25, 2013, 12:21:47 AM
The RB sounds are different, but the process is the same, just name the wav files the same as the sound you want to shadow.

I only did a sample of sounds, not all of them, it became too tedious to rip all the sound bites from the movie.
