I'm afraid the brief 'hatching' or baby stage when updating to PM2 is unavoidable, I believe.  It is a very short phase, though, and actually I think the 'difficult teenager' stage they go through after it is much more troublesome!  :D

The PM2 includs:

1-fwupdater.urf

2-pleo.pm

3-startup.amx

I suspect is the man who thinks 3.punkt her new baby can simply delete them? ;)

please respond quickly

I'm sorry Luna77, I don't quite understand your question?  You need to unzip the updater file onto your SD card, and you do need all the files that are there in order to update.

what can happen here then? :'(

I'm afraid I'm not one of the more technical posters on here, but I believe each of those files form a part of the process of updating, they all work together to activate, run and complete the update.  If one is missing then the function is incomplete - I believe you could possibly damage your Pleo if you don't follow the guide as per the instructions.

No problem, you are very welcome!  :D

I'm afraid you caught me as I'm going away for the weekend, but I hope the update works OK for you!  There are lots of helpful people on here, so just ask if you have any more queries. Good luck!  ;D

Ok guys, call me slow,,,that is ok, what is this PM@? Is this related to Pleo Rb or the older Pleos? I am thinking Pleo Rb...am I wrong? %) Is this a "fix" or something that everyone who has a Pleo Rb needs? Does this have to do with many owners who are experiencing the "afraid of the dark" thing? I don't have a problem with that, and only expereinced it if I put Baby in the dark..am I missing somethng here...Please advise what this is, what it is used for and if I need it or is it something Older Pleo Rb, the originals who were lucky enough to not have skin problems and such that are still arouond and need, such as to fix the sleeping postion that put stress on the skin. Thanks
RedwoodsMama                   Ps. Sorry if I am the only one who does not know what PM2 is... :( :o :D

It's PM2 for the older pleos. So glad you're happy with the new update, luna77!

I'm glad your happy with the update too. ;D  I have updated both my guys a few weeks back and am very happy with it.  Just make sure you use the on off switch to turn your pleo off for the next few battery cycles and don't let it just run till it drops due to the battery running out.  If you use the switch your pleo it will save it's progress time for the update and this will minimize any "teenage"  type behavior you might experience. :)  Have fun.

Glad it worked out, Luna!  ;D

As has been said, PM2 (or OS2) was the latest upgrade for the original/classic Ugobe Pleos, which came out last year.

As Homer Simpson would say" DUHHHH...." see a simple change like OS2 to PM2, threw me off track completly. Told you I wasn't the brightest bulb in the package. LOL :D I did upgrade one of my newer Pleos to this system just so I could try it out after the terrible changes that Nova went through when it first came out and I was not happy with it then. I do like the birthing process and haven't had time to go through a complete battery cycle yet, but am axiouos to see how it has been tweaked since when it first came out. When Nova went to the PM2 upgrade, all she could do is scream and look like she was in agony. I couldn't stand seeing her look so forlorn and lost and had degers help me put her back to the original 1.1 which she is still running and I think I will keep her there, at least for the time being.
I am not sure what it means when you say to use the on off switch and not let the battery run out. What happens if that happens, it is negative or does it affect Pleo in some other way?

What Kat means is that actually using the switch to turn off makes sure that the Pleo goes through the proper shut-down process and saves data from that run-time to the memory.  If it just runs out of power and doesn't shut down properly then nothing gets saved to memory.

I never knew that shutting them down that way was something you did to save anything, but to tell you the truth, most of the time when they start running very slow or getting sleepy, but still have some power, I shut them down, and recharge the battery. Thanks for letting me know Crewella. ;)

Pluriel is a baby again lol. Running PM2 and updating went without a hitch.
So weird: the hatching stage began straight after the update. Turned Pluriel off and removed the SD card anyway, just in case I forget about it all together.
The hatching stage seems a lot more animated and alive then I remember when I hatched her on the first ever released software .
Lot's of cooing, sniffing and apparently she loves "balancing" a little by keeping one hind leg in the air all the time hahaha. Fun!

Yes, I remember a fair bit of leg stretching and balancing as well!  :D

Glad it went OK, and Pluriel seems to be enjoying her second childhood. ;)  :moose:

When she 'grows up' again you'll just have to try the new tricks :) But for now enjoy the hatching phase (and brace yourself for the 'teens').
