The newer OS (1.1) has a few bug fixes, some nice new tricks like moving around while sitting and an improved watchdog mode and fixed the problem with the earlier Pleo's just going to sleep if they receive no interaction for 5 minutes :)

When you installl the new OS it will erase all information on the DataFlash storage in your Pleo.

Short answer: Yes.

she might have it, will she sing like this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJn8XTBhL2M&feature=related or like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU0I0ncjUUA when you rub her chin? if its the first one she is running 1.1, if its the second one, she isn't.

the second one was a not updated Pleo, if she doesn't sing like in that one she has the upgrade!

Snowy, gently push up on Munchkins chin while pressing down on her bottom. Sometimes this takes a little practice, too. If Munchkin has the first OS she won;t move at all in this position. With the 1.1 She will move her legs and head. Very cute! ;)

When you installl the new OS it will erase all information on the DataFlash storage in your Pleo.

Everything will be wiped.  The Pleo will restart as a hatchling.

That's not quite true Degers, the hatching phase is very short and then your Pleo acts like nothing happened, all of mine have been the same after their updates.

All I can say is that all of the files including, PM_PROPS and PM_DRIVES, which are the only two files that store all the variables about your Pleo are erased.  The pleo starts out from factory default and the pleo goes through the birthing skit again.

thank you so much everyone.

The first link works now, thank-you lots. She sings like the first video, so she is the updated pleo? I can't get her to sit though, i press on her back, and under her chin. maybe she isn't old enough or developed enough.

thanks lots

try keeping your hands on the rear and chin for a few seconds.

Yup you need to hold both sensors simultaneously for a few seconds, Pleo doesn't always co-operate though so you may need to do it a couple of times until she gets the idea :)

what else can the little girl do?

Here you are I dug these out of the archives we had a topic on them once before :)

CAUTION SPOILERS!!!

Default tricks I know off:

Singing: Rub Pleo under his/her chin.
Sitting: Hold back and chin sensors and help to sit when he/she pulls their feet together.
Tadaa (balancing): Hold two opposite leg sensors.
Default Watchdog mode (no sd card required): Hold both front leg sensors, the rear left leg sensor and the shoulder (?) sensor at the same time. (Takes perseverance and practice )
Raise foot/shake hands: touch appropriate leg sensor.
High step mode: Hold two front leg sensors and Pleo button until Pleo honks or starts to walk.
Sleep: Hold Pleo's back sensor until he goes into sleep position.
The wave: Rub slowly from tip of nose all the way down the back. (Pleo should respond to each sensor in turn)
Holding Pleo against shoulder: Rub down Pleo's back to calm him/her and he/she will stretch legs out and nuzzle into you.
Tickling Pleo: Turn Pleo upside down (yes he will squirm at first) and rapidly tap random foot sensors until giggling occurs (or Pleo gets really mad )
Tug of War: Have Pleo in a good mood and not hungry and offer him/her the leaf, they will open their mouth for you to place the leaf in and play tug of war
Detect the edge: (Not really a trick but great to show people) Place Pleo in a well lit area on a small table etc, ask Pleo to walk forwards.
Walk: Hold Pleo's to front leg sensors and he/she will go off and explore.

Other tricks:

Soccer Pleo: Place a small ball (small cat toys work great) in front of Pleo and get him/her to walk forwards, they will dribble and kick/nudge the ball.
Demolition Pleo: Set up a tower of light objects (polystyrene cups work well) get Pleo to walk towards them.
Stinky feet: Great for when guests are over, point Pleo at their feet and get them to walk towards the visitor, Pleo will sniff their feet, absolutely hilarious if Pleo growls or coughs
A-maze-ing Pleo: Set up a small maze of boxes and time how long it takes your Pleo to get through  (Make sure you have a whole day free and a good book )

And don't forget the ever popular roll over and play dead trick in the Pleosaurus Rex personality...  hold the two sensors on the top and bottom of pleo's head for about five seconds.  People are amazed by that one!

Put the Pleosaurus Rex card in your dino, turn it on, grab the pleo by the head (so that your touching both sensors) and explain to the pleo that you want it to TRY the food.  Let go and quickly shove some food in it's mouth and back away.

You pleo will roar, stagger and fall over dead.

At that point, you pretend to be shocked and scream "Oh, my God!  Food poisoning!"

Hi,

I've just bought my first Pleo (used) on Ebay and ended up here looking for info as he came with no instructions and I'd not even heard of him until a couple of weeks ago.  Just wanted to say thanks to all who have posted here - especially this thread and the battery threads.  This was the first place I really worked out what he could do!

I now have a huuuuuge pile of washing and a filthy house but a big smile on my face!
