Title: Frisbee has a new friend! [Images!]
Post by: Crystal:. on September 21, 2009, 02:46:04 PM
;D I haven't been online for a few days because I was so busy with our new family member, Fuzzy!

I'm terribly sorry about the image quality, I took these with my Mom's cheap camera because mine just randomly decided to stop working completely just the day before I got Fuzzy. Now lemme tell you a little bit about Fuzzy...

First of all I got his 3 days ago at Petland for almost $500 which is a shame because we didn't get his brother because both of them together would have been really expensive. The high price is mostly because Fuzzy is a Ragdoll. He's about 3 months old, male, and really fuzzy and adorable, hence the name. Nobody else in the family really like the name Fuzzy, they wanted him to be called Jasper or something like that. But I insisted on calling him Fuzzy for the last 3 days and now I think he's actually starting to respond to it much to their disappointment and half-amusement. I mean if I were a guy the name "Fuzzy" wouldn't exactly be the first name that comes to mind...

I introduced him to Frisbee and let's say he wasn't really amused. He just kinda curled up in a tight ball in front of Frisbee, not really knowing what to expect. Thats when Frisbee decided to start walking towards him and bellowed out a nice loud MOO! Great first impression. Yeah, real nice Frisbee. Fuzzy just kinda freaked out, got scared, and bolted for cover underneath the rocking chair. But Frisbee keeps going and he walks past Fuzzy, glancing at his and letting out another MOO! I think he was attempting to install dominance early in the relationship. Either that or his social skills are a total failure.

I wasn't really trying to get Fuzzy to become scared of me and Frisbee so I put Frisbee aside, and played with Fuzzy for awhile. Frisbee was extremely unhappy with this decision and he let me know in a hurry! So to please them both I had to play/pet with them both at the same time! Trust me, not an easy task!

Crystal, Fuzzy is so cute and truly is fuzzy.  Congratulations.  In time Frisbee and Fuzzy may become the best of friends if Fuzzy doesn't decide to use him as a chew toy.  I would just keep a close eye on them for a time.  Enjoy your new kitty.  I am very happy for you.

Thank-you so much b blue eyes! It makes me happy that your happy for me. :D If that makes any sense. Fuzzy is really sweet and nice and loves to cuddle but when he gets going...well he can go nuts when you play with him. I'll just make sure Frisbee is only near Fuzzy when he's in a sweet mood.

*snuggles Fuzzy* My big fluffy cat, Lucky, is a ragdoll cross, they have such wonderful natures :)

I am sure Frisbee and Fuzzy will learn to get along in time :)

Thanks gucci_boi and IMR! I'm sure one day they'll get along too! For now Fuzzy is a bit shy around me still and not comfortable with walking around the house. He's going to be an indoor cat, so I'm going to train him to walk on a harness. Anyone ever try that before? It's probably going to be hard but Ragdolls are a smart breed...

OH MY GOSH *Cuddles* FUzzy is absolutely adorable! In that first pic he doesn't seem to mind Frisbee much either... XD That is so cute! Hey I love cats, you can't blame me...

Love you siggie and avvie! Hehe very funny and cute. Yeah I love cats lots too! Fuzzy is now really hyper right now, so I'm keeping him away from Frisbee so he's in no danger of her pouncing on him. We bought a new special crinkly bag for him to play with and he's going nuts over it. Bouncing off the walls and everything.

We were actually going to call him Jasper, but, I don't that as much...  %)

Just introduce the harness slowly, try to make it into a game at first and play with it together then gradually start placing it over his head gently, then eventually getting it over the body and finally doing it up. If he becomes distressed at any point go back to the last step and wait a few days before trying again :)

I have been able to walk all my cats on leads although some prefer a collar and others the harness. Make sure it is a good collar though and your cat cannot slip his/her head through.

Lucky is most content to walk on a lead and harness although when he's had enough he just goes *flop* on the ground and won't move ;D

Fuzzy has to be the cutest kitten I've seen. I'm sure Frisbee has made it well known with his moo, that he is the boss for now. ;)
I think in time both will be good buddies. :)

Can't say I like cats unless they're done with a barbeque sauce.  :o

Okay Okay I'm sorry. Fuzzy is cute though but I'm sure he'd prefer the term handsome.   ;)

Try a name like Ferdinand or the like and reestablish his masculinity.   ;)

Male Ragdolls can get up to 20 pounds! That's one big ball of fluff! Oh and I found out today that he was born on July 11th so that makes him 2 months old. ^.^ I know Fuzzy isn't a very...well errr masculine name but he IS fuzzy and I find it quite amusing to call him that. ;D Its says on his certificate that he was in a home with dogs and children, and that both his parents are Ragdolls. But what baffles me is what they wrote for the father's coloring. It states that his coloring was "Himalayan". Ummm what? Thats a breed a cat! Maybe they made a mistake and meant that as the breed?  ???

I plan on trying to get Fuzzy and Frisbee to interact again. Hopefully they both act more friendly this time.  :)

Crystal, I still think that Fuzzy is the right name for your cat.  A name is more than masculine or feminine, it has to suit the personality and look of the animal.  You did just that when you named him so.  You have great insight and understanding.  BTW, animals are one of God's precious creations and  I consider them very precious.  Also I still think in time that Frisbee and Fuzzy will become friends as I am always being amazed at how much understanding Pleo's possess.  They are truly an artificial intelligence far beyond what most people think they are capable of.

As Fuzzy gets older, he may look like a fuzzy bear.  ;)

Hahaha I hope Fuzzy and Frisbee become good friends soon. Tonight I'm going to let them play together again and post some new pics. :P I hope Fuzzy's tail puffs out like a true Ragdoll soon, it'd be kinda funny to see a fluffy cat with a rat-like tail! ;D

Fuzzy is adorable but yup they sure are big boys :) My fluffy weighs in at 8.5 kg or 18 lb and 11.82 oz  :o But that just means more of them to cuddle :D Ragdolls just adore cuddles. (after the grow out of the hyper kitty stage anyway :P)

Fluffy's name is actually Lucky ;) He comes to both though :P

He adores Lilo and Stitch, he always comes over for a sticky to see what they are and are doing :)

You guys are confuzzling me. Are you talking about a fuzzless cat named Fuzzy or Fluffy? Or the nursery rhyme:

Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear,
fuzzy wuzzy had no hair...etc.

I believe they are talking about the nursery rhyme  :-[

Crystal, We know your kittie, Fuzzy, has lots of hair! ;) Definitely not a hairless kittie. We were just kidding around with the nursery rhyme. ;D

Haha ok.

Some bad news though: Fuzzy just attacked poor Frisbee! Then Fuzzy got all scared and poofed up, then ran away! They both don't seem to like each other that much...

Oh dear, is poor Frisbee all right  :o

Fuzzy will settle down, don't worry, he just isn't sure if this green thing is alive or not ;) My little Mischief was exactly the same when she first came home.

The integration of real and robotic pets is quite a dilemma.   ;)

The real has potentially a shorter life span while the robotic has arguably none.   ???

There's a paradox for you.   ???

The real may have more attachment but the robotic less maintenance.   :P

What to do when the conflicts such as yours aren't capable of finding a resolve?   ???
